Monkey Knife Fight Bolsters Florida Commitment With Tampa Bay Buccaneers Deal

Competition in the DFS space has been raging for years but that battle had been taking place between two major operators. It is official that there is a new player in town - Monkey Knife Fight, a company that has quietly been climbing the ladder and inserting its dominance in one of the most populous sections of America - Florida.

On Thursday, the fastest-growing, up-and-coming DFS provider signed a multi-year deal with the NFL‘s Tampa Bay Buccaneers which piggybacks on other recent similar deals with other Florida teams. Monkey Knife Fight has recently secured partnership nods with the NFL's Miami Dolphins and MLB's Miami Marlins, making them a force in the largely untapped, sports-crazed state of Florida.

What's the Deal?

For Monkey Knife Fight, exposure will be the biggest benefit going forward - their logos will be prominent whenever a Florida team takes to the field. MKF will be featured in pre and post-game radio and TV promotions, will benefit from in-stadium branding, and will have a presence on all Buccaneers' social medial platforms.

Monkey Knife Fight will become a sponsor of a highly-visible article series trotted out by the Bucs - "Five Bucs to Watch". They will sponsor the Bucs “Top Performer in Fantasy” highlight series and will have a hand in the team’s in-app predictive gaming concept.

More promotional games and contests are in the works, which will benefit both the firm and the throngs of Buccaneer fans.

Bucs a Hot Commodity?

Tom Brady brings with him a new sense of credibility and optimism to the Florida market and has made the team an instant contender. Monkey Knife Fight saw the writing on the wall and quickly hitched its wagon to one of the sexiest sleepers in the NFL.

“The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are an outstanding organization, and one that fits well with our brand,” said Bill Asher, Founder and CEO of Monkey Knife Fight. “Tampa Bay is going to have an explosive year with their new lineup. This upcoming season will definitely be exciting for all Buccaneers fans.”

What the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Get Out of the Deal

With the rash of partnership deals happening in the sports betting industry, the Bucs, in a state that hasn't legalized sports betting just yet, gets a leg up - gets a chance to test the partnership waters before sports betting is eventually legislated into law in the state.

Providers are brought on to maximize a fan's game-day experience through promotions and new ways to have a stake in the game. Brian Ford, Chief Operating Officer of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, commented: “We’d like to welcome Monkey Knife Fight as our newest partners. We are always searching for ways to enhance and expand upon the game day experience both at Raymond James Stadium and through the ever-expanding popularity of fantasy sports gaming.

“Monkey Knife Fight is an emerging leader in this new and exciting sports gaming space, and we look forward to beginning this partnership with a memorable 2020 season.”

Win-win

Monkey Knife fight has only elevated its status with their Tampa Bay Buccaneers deal and cements themselves as a player in one of the most potentially lucrative betting states in the US. They have set themselves up well for an eventual legalization of the sports betting industry in Florida.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers gain access to a DFS company that is working extra-hard to bring a fun and interactive product to the Florida market. The Bucs realize that MKF is in a race to catch up to the "Big 2" global DFS providers and should benefit from their extra motivation moving forward.

Monkey Knife Fight has a long way to go to catch the behemoths of the industry but their Florida domination is a good start. Both sides of the deal win in this case – all they need is a full NFL season.
