Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is currently the favorite to win the NBA Finals MVP Award at BetMGM, and he’s also received the highest betting handle percentage.

The three-time NBA Champion has never won the award, and he opened with +1400 to win his first. Curry’s odds have been bet down to +400, and the 34-year-old guard is also BetMGM’s second-largest liability.

It’s worth highlighting the significant disparity between Curry’s ticket and handle percentages, which could be an indication of sharp money coming in on the Warriors’ star. It’s also worth noting Golden State is the current betting favorite to win the NBA Championship at +280 at BetMGM, so there’s plenty aligning for Curry.

To add additional context, the Golden State odds have a 26.3% implied probability.

Should the Warriors win their seventh NBA Championship, it would be fitting for Curry to win his first Finals MVP. After all, he’s been the face of the franchise during their five most recent trips to the finals.

Phoenix Suns shooting guard Devin Booker is actually the largest liability to win the NBA Finals MVP for BetMGM, and he’s received the highest ticket percentage and second-highest handle percentage among bettors.

However, Booker is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, and his odds climbed from +500 to +900 at the book as a result.

Other notable candidates to win the award taking action are Milwaukee Bucks power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, and Boston Celtics guard Jayson Tatum.

Starting with Tatum, he’s already advanced to the second round of the playoffs, and Boston has the second shortest odds to win the NBA Championship at +375. Embiid and the 76ers have let the Toronto Raptors back into their Round 1 series following consecutive losses.

Antetokounmpo won the 2021 NBA Finals MVP Award, and Milwaukee is definitely a candidate to win the Eastern Conference. The Bucks are currently +700 to win the NBA Championship with the fifth shortest odds.
