Maryland To Officially Begin Online Sports Betting Wednesday Morning

Two years after voters in Maryland approved event wagering, the state will formally launch online sports betting Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. ET. In-person sports betting began in December 2021, but it's not until now that bettors will be able to place mobile wagers.

Seven sportsbooks — DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, BetMGM, PointsBet, Barstool Sportsbook, and BetRivers — will go live at 9 a.m. Eastern Time. More sportsbooks will go live in the weeks and months to come. 

The launch date couldn't come at a more opportune time for sports bettors. With Thanksgiving NFL games, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, college football games, plus local teams such as the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders, there are plenty of options for residents of Maryland.
