Smith, a 6-foot-10 forward, averaged 16.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2 assists, with 1.1 steals and 1 block per game as a freshman at Auburn. He shot 42.9% from the field overall and 42% on three-point attempts. Smith is tops with 27.1% of the wagers for 53.3% of the handle at BetMGM.
Holmgren is a lean 7-footer who averaged 14.1 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.9 assists, with 0.8 steals and 3.7 blocks per game as a freshman for Gonzaga. He shot 60.7% from the field and 39.0% on three-pointers. Holmgren is on 24.5% of the tickets for 35.3% of the handle at BetMGM.
Duke power forward Paolo Banchero put up 17.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.9 blocks per game as a freshman for the Blue Devils. While he has been among the candidates for the top pick, those odds have been moving. Banchero is on 16.5% of the tickets for 8.5% of the handle at BetMGM.
The odds have shifted in Smith’s favor a little more since last week, with Holmgren’s odds getting a little longer. However, the biggest move is that Banchero is not nearly as big a longshot for the top pick as he was last week.
