Fanatics Goes Live in Arizona
Fanatics Sportsbook, one of our best sports betting sites, has made good on its commitment to launch in Arizona.
Fanatics Sportsbook Arizona started taking bets on April 4, just over two weeks after the Arizona Department of Gaming granted Fanatics Betting and Gaming an Event Wagering license.
Thanks to an agreement with Tonto Apache Tribe, owner and operator of the Mazatzal Hotel & Casino, Fanatics took the final step in transforming PointsBet Arizona's product into the Fanatics Sportsbook brand. The Arizona sports betting scene is the 18th that Fanatics has entered.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Tonto Apache Tribe and Mazatzal Hotel & Casino to bring the Fanatics Sportsbook to Arizona,” said Ari Borod, Chief Business Officer, Fanatics Betting & Gaming. “Arizona is a state with tons of options for sports fans, from baseball to hockey to golf to football to racing, making it the ideal destination for the most rewarding online sportsbook.”
Signing up
Fanatics Sportsbook is now available for download on iOS, Android, and desktop in Arizona. When you sign up, you will receive a welcome $1K in bonus bets - basically $100 in bonus bets daily for ten days. There are several Arizona sportsbook promos available to residents.
Those with an existing PointsBet account will automatically have their email, log-in information, balances, open bets, bonus bets, and reward balance ported to their new Fanatics Sportsbook account.
Fanatics Arizona users will be able to take advantage of the Fanatics Rewards Program "FanCash," in which up to 5% Cash Back options are available for use toward future Bonus Bets or at Fanatics' unparalleled online apparel store.
The Arizona market
Fanatics enters an Arizona sports betting apps market that is both full and competitive. All the biggest names in the broad U.S. scene compete for market share in the Grand Canyon State. FanDuel and DraftKings alone make up about 70% of the market.
But Arizona is definitely a hot sports betting market - firmly planted within the top 10 U.S. legal sports betting states. Arizona sports betting sites took in a total of $6.5 billion in 2023 and started off hot again in January.
Taking the opportunity
The Arizona Department of Gaming went into 2024 looking for a few new providers to fill out their full roster of 20 sports betting providers. bet365 is the other sportsbook that has recently gone live in the Arizona market.
Fanatics Sportsbook was able to take advantage of one of the licenses designated for Arizona Tribes in what is seen as a mutually beneficial partnership.
“The Tribe’s partnering with Fanatics Betting & Gaming, a national leader in the sports betting space, will allow the Tribe to provide for the general welfare of our tribal members but will also benefit all Arizona citizens,” said Tonto Apache Chairman Calvin Johnson.
Speaking of opportunity
Fanatics has been on fire with launches over the last six or so weeks, officially setting up shop in some of the nation's most important sports betting states.
Now that it's launched in Arizona it joins a number of other states where it's already on the apps list, including, Indiana sports betting apps, Iowa sports betting apps, Michigan sports betting apps, New York sports betting apps, North Carolina sports betting apps, and most recently the Illinois sports betting apps.
Fanatics has officially taken over from all of PointsBet’s operations in America, completing a huge goal and undertaking. Now will be the challenge of gaining a reasonable market share in all those jurisdictions.
