Caesars Opens Retail Books in New Mexico
The best sportsbooks are always scratching and clawing to claim new territory. That can often lead to an emphasis on the marquee large markets. But sometimes cornering smaller markets is effective too, and Caesars has now made a move in New Mexico.
Caesars, which is among the best sports betting apps, has announced a partnership with Laguna Development Corporation to establish several in-person sportsbooks in New Mexico. Wagers are now being accepted at the Route 66 Casino Hotel, Casino Xpress, and Dancing Eagle Casino.
It's a move designed to promote better access and an improved experience for New Mexico sports betting.
“We are excited to partner with one of the world’s leading gaming companies to provide New Mexico sports fans a world-class wagering experience that connects our guests with sporting events around the country and the world,” said President and CEO of LDC Maxine Velasquez in a release.
The strategy
Providing more access to in-person wagering is clearly critical in a state where that's the only avenue for bettors currently. In-person betting is legal in New Mexico, whereas online betting through betting sites isn't.
That's why Caesars is pursuing already-existing and popular venues, with kiosks involved as a way to bring the well-honed Caesars sportsbook promo code experience to historic establishments.
Route 66, for example, has long been a staple for bettors in New Mexico, and its neon lights were even shown during the 2016 movie "Hell or High Water."
"As we continue to make improvements and upgrades throughout our casino and restaurants this year, we are also providing our guests with new special amenities, including access to one of the country’s leading sports betting brands," said Route 66 Casino Hotel General Manager Adrian Fox. "Wagering options on the Caesars Sportsbook platform are nearly unlimited in scope, encompassing sports from around the world.”
Meanwhile, the Caesars casino promo code will add to an already bustling experience at Dancing Eagle that features 400 slot and bingo machines.
It's all part of a wider push to broaden a footprint in an area where access is limited due to the lack of online betting.
