just finished, lost, but my question is regarding the +5.5 games won handicap.

i might be retarded, or too high, or whatever, but if you lose a match where the opponent needs to win 3 sets in order to win, then arnt you going to lose by 6 games in total either way?

so isnt the +5.5 handicap essentially betting on that person to win the match outright, because if you lose, youre going to lose by more than 5.5 games.

Not really, because there is always the possibility that it goes 5 sets or that there can be 1 tiebreaker, in which case, your chances would be greatly increased. A tiebreaker in that last set would have won it...it was only half a game away. Good line setting by the bookies with a bit of luck, I guess, as the + games was the heavier side.

I got Vollandri at +10 1/2 games earlier at + money.
