I was waiting around for it to go down this morning, then jumped on Na after a few hours of no movement. I think it should be around -233 which translates to Na winning 70% of the time. So I like Na alot. Although Venus has had flashes of her old self recently, her singles game has been in steady decline for several years now while Na is improving from a tourney grinder to a serious tourney contender, winning a GS title(French) and making the finals of the Australian last year.

Venus will have to play much better than yesterday and pick up alot easy points off her serve to have a chance here. This line is definitely lower than it should be due to Venus name recognition. She hasn't beaten tough competition consistently for 3 years now, and hasnt gotten to a singles GS QF in that span , and Li is more than capable of beating her convincingly.

Na is strange in the fact her game has peaked at a relatively late point in her career. Venus is definitely on the decline, I can't see her winning many rallies that extend beyond a couple of groundstrokes. Like I said earlier her serve will have to pick up alot of free points or she is in trouble. She struggled with her serve yesterday, but I felt confident she would win once it entered the 3rd set. If it goes 3 today she will be in serious trouble.

Venus may just retire here. She knows she has little chance of stringing successive singles matches against top 12 competition. She already has the look of defeat, and she may think pulling out/quitting is better than taking her beating, 4-2 now in the 1st set.

She is merely sore and old and knows she is outclassed. She looks smooth hitting winners, up 40-0 in the 7th game.

Even her coach said he thought everything was fine in warm ups just before the match.

She is a tough, great champion with a much greater legacy than Na will ever have. This just isn't her spot. She will never win another serious singles title. Should be a straight set winner!

For 10+ years she could easily bounce back and wipe the floor with Na. I picked Venus to beat Stosur yesterday, last years US Open champ. But this spot is bad for her on many levels. Venus can beat top competition, but the conditions have to be just right for her.

Yesterday I never doubted she would likely win the 3rd set, today....not soo fast. Na is not going to be phased mentally or physically. The depth and speed of her shots are consistent, and she has won easier more decisive games throughout.

Now if I only had a play for the next match??? It is almost a letdown making a huge bet on the first match, then having to pass on the next one.

On to the strikeforce fights, although I may watch some of the next match to handicap the finals. Usually late round matches are spread fairly accurately though.
