I've been a broken record this week when it comes to all the talk of tank theories for the Olympics and whether or not this guy or that guy is doing this or that. I've been banging home the point that I thought Kohlschreiber came to Austria looking to play for a bit. He's don't just that as he moves to the semis on Friday, a round ahead of last year's performance here. So ... he's defended his points, actually gained a few extra points and a tidy little paycheck for a few days work. The Olympic Committee did him the favor of scheduling his 1st rounder on Sunday, so he can conceivably play the final here on Saturday & scoot over to London for Sunday. Certainly a title would be nice and a bigger paycheck potentially for winning this tournament, but nothing is written in stone obviously as far as him winning it all. I still subscribe to the theory that he is not going to flat out quit trying, but with the points & pay in his back pocket and a crafty vet in Volandri waiting .... this is my spot to go against the German. This is a play I think would make sense even if there was no question/concern surrounding scheduling, etc because Volandri is a tricky little bastard on clay when his head is in a match + his game matches his effort.
