    Let's try something new
This week is full of craptastic tennis tournaments, and I feel it is the perfect time for me to waste money trying out some new theories and angles. It's getting late, and I'm too lazy to get into the specifics of this. Honestly, I would prefer it if posters refrained from tailing, fading, and providing opinions/analysis on these picks. This is simply a trial run, so just ignore the plays even if I start off on a hot streak. Like anything that is in its "trial" stage, there are going to be bumps in the road (like when a beta is buggy).

Again, I fully expect some of these plays to bust. But this is as good of a week as any to test out some different methods that I have been developing throughout the season. My hope is to simply finish the week in positive units. My expectation is for none of this to be effective, leading to a winning week for my book(s). This main purpose of this thread is that it gives me a backup copy of the results.

Loufunk is on a nice roll and has a system that has proven itself effective. Follow him if you want winners this week. Follow this thread if you enjoy train wrecks

So here I go ... going to get to work now and see what I come up with for Monday's matches.

Well, I guess I had to be the one to complain to Bookmaker CS to post lines for the Newport tournament, because they are finally up ... Hard for me to believe that I was the one who got them to do this, but I just talked to them 10-15 minutes ago, which is how long they said they'd need to look into it.
Good job, bookmaker ... but next time, post the lines the night before. Angle plays that will probably fail miserably will be posted soon

Figures aren't 100 percent exact, but I don't want to get into adding decimals. So $65 to win $32 may actually be $65 to win $31.90 or $65.10 to win $32. Just ballparking the figures to speed up the process a little.

      Angle 1

Russell ML -170 (Risking $42.50 to win $25)

      Angle 2

Parlay Mahut ML -425 with Wickmayer ML -475 (Risking $65 to win $32)

      Angle 3

Bemelmans ML +190 (Risking $20 to win $38)

      Angle 4

Cadantu ML +225 (Risking $20 to win $45)

      and

Putintseva ML +195 (Risking $20 to win $39)

Let the train wreck begin (hence the small risk amounts)!

        Angle 1: WON $25

        Angle 2: WON $32

        Angle 3: LOST $20

Angle 4: WON $45 AND LOST $20, SO WON $25 OVERALL.

        YTD: +$62

This was a pretty good debut for this, but I'm a little disappointed Bemelans couldn't quite pull it out against Harrison. Oh well. Still happy with the positive results, but I'm sure at some point these angles will turn against me. haha.

          Plays for July 10:

          Angle 1

Stebe ML +115 (Risking $20 to win $23)

          Angle 2

Parlay Paire ML -210 with Querrey ML -600 (Risking $44 to win $32)

          Angle 3

Knapp ML +165 (Risking $20 to win $33)

          Angle 4

Reister ML +120 (Risking $20 to win $24)

          and

Ryderstedt ML +205 (Risking $20 to win $41)

I might add on a couple more plays tomorrow; waiting on a few lines from the Newport and Stanford tournaments to be put on the board. I must continue to keep it small because this is just a trial run ... I'm hoping for more positive results tomorrow, but I'm expecting a train wreck at some point. lol.

Not in love with the theory behind this play, but I might as well do as much testing as possible during such a weird week. lol.

Will give you more details later. I have to meet a couple people this afternoon so I can serve them their court papers, but I should return sometime this evening (in US time).

                  Angle 1: WON $23

Angle 2: WON $7 AND WON $29, SO WON $36 OVERALL (The Querrey-Paire parlay just became a straight bet on Querrey due to Petz's withdrawal from the Mercedes tournament in Germany. Nothing I can do about that. Stuff happens.)

                  Angle 3: LOST $20

Angle 4: LOST $20 AND LOST $20, SO LOST $40 OVERALL

I picked the wrong dogs today. lol. My data did not have Istomin, Muller or JCF losing, although I did have an angle that pointed to a letdown factor for Istomin. JCF deserved a fade as a four-figure favorite, but his past performances at that tournament caused him to be left out of any of my barking dog angles.

Like I said, this is like a beta, so I'll have to tweak some things to see if I can't generate better results as the week goes on. I believe current form needs to be a bigger factor, but there are other adjustments needed ... Still, I'm up for the week and basically broke even today -- and would be in the positive had Petz not bailed and proceeded to lose as expected -- so things are going smoothly thus far for a trial run.

                  This week

                    Angle 1

                    Garcia-Lopez ML -165 (Risking $50 to win $30)*

                    Angle 2

Parlay Querrey ML -425 with Cornet ML -330 (Risking $50 to win $31)

                    Angle 3

Rochus ML +200 (Risking $20 to win $40)

                    and

Ram ML -125 (Risking $30 to win $24)

                    Angle 4

De Brito ML +215 (Risking $20 to win $43)

                    and

Vandeweghe ML +240 (Risking $20 to win $48)

*Could not post before the match due to maintenance on the SBR website last night. Placed the bet before I went to bed and could not post before now. This isn't a good "tailing" thread anyway, so you probably don't care. lol.

Let's see if angle 3 and 4 can produce better results today ... Best of luck to all.

Vandeweghe cashes to save the day

Querrey and Cornet both lost matches they should have won, but that's how it goes sometimes. Sela outplayed Querrey, and Cadantu is on a roll this week, so give them some credit. Still a lot of work to be done.

                      July 10, 2012

                      Angle 1: WON $30

                      Angle 2: LOST $50

Angle 3: LOST $20 AND WON $24, SO WON $4 OVERALL

Angle 4: LOST $20 AND WON $48, SO WON $28 OVERALL.

                      This week

                      Angle 1: 3-0 (+$78)

                      Angle 2: 3-1 (+$18)

                      Angle 3: 1-3 (-$36)

                      Angle 4: 2-4 (+$13)

As you can see, this system needs some tweaks, but three of the angles have produced positive results to this point. Angle 3 produced its first winner today, while angle 1 has been the most reliable. It's a small sample size, so there is still a lot of work to be done.

Angle 1: No play (The best lean for this play is Fognini ML, but the system did not recommend the risk of a bet.)

Angle 2: Parlay Haas ML -925 with Berlocq ML -570 and Dimitrov ML -265 (Risking $51 to win $40)

Angle 3: Levine ML +100 (Risking $20 to win $20)

                        and

Tatishvili ML +210 (Risking $20 to win $42)

Angle 4: Pavic ML +270 (Risking $20 to win $54)

I will add at least one more play tomorrow ... perhaps two or even three depending on what lines my books have. I'm waiting on a couple lines from Newport and Stanford to hit a couple of books before I can finish my calculations, so hopefully I'll have time to post the additional play(s) in the morning. I hope I can avoid a train wreck again. lol.

Glad you didn't touch Angle 2 ... Haas has been terrible on break points and will probably be done in less than 30 minutes.

I'm likely going to wind up dropping angle 2 by the end of this week. The data is spitting out some horrible results.

Levine is getting his ass kicked, too. I knew a train wreck was coming at some point this week. lol.

If he's serving well, he's going to be very dangerous. And my system loves Nishikori, so that has to add to Ram's chances. haha.

Keep an eye on that late line movement ... it's been unbelievably helpful for this Newport tournament.

I told you guys a train wreck was coming at some point. This is just a test run, and I expected some rough patches, but I am disappointed to see things go this poorly in one day. Oh well ... That's why I did this. I wanted to see how reliable this could be so far and where work needs to be done.

Obviously, there are a lot of adjustments to be made. But I'll see what the rest of the week has in store for this system before I put it to rest and continue to develop its accuracy. If this system produces a profit at the end of this week, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

                                                          Angle 1: NO PLAY

Angle 3: LOST $20 AND PUSH, SO LOST $20 OVERALL (I was saved by Tashtivili's retirement. She was getting clobbered.)

Angle 4: LOST $20 AND LOST $20, SO LOST $40 OVERALL

                                                          This week

                                                          Angle 1: 3-0 (+$78)

                                                          Angle 2: 3-3 (-$84)

                                                          Angle 3: 1-4 (-$56)

                                                          Angle 4: 2-6 (-$27)

                                                          Today: -$162
                                                          YTD: -$89

Who knows? Maybe I can turn this into a system that produces great results if you fade it. haha.

Yes ... That seems way off. I heard Radwanska is a little under the weather like her sister was last week, but I don't see why she would go from a short favorite to a 3-to-1 dog so quickly.
