Monday ATP Doubles Play @ Wimbledon
This upset went under-the-radar because not too many delve into doubles. But this really ranks about as large as Nadal losing to Rosol in singles. The #1 team of Max Myrnyi & Daniel Nestor lost in straights to Julian Knowle & Daniele Bracciali. To put this in perspective, Myrnyi-Nestor had won four tournaments, including the French Open & Queens Club in their last two entries - beating the Bryans in both those tournaments. 39-9 on the season. Knowle had been partner swapping all year without a ton of luck, while Bracciali had also used several partners with a QF run @ Roland Garros with Starace. They face the Argentine pairing of Chela-Schwank who come in off a five set win over the 16th seeds, Sa-Soares. This is the 3rd straight year this Argie duo has teamed up at the All-England club. They made the semis in 2010 and lost in the 3rd round last year in three tie breaks.

I don't think doubles has the sort of drop off we see with singles where Rosol played the match of his life and then was not going to match it next round. Here, I think the hot team is where you go.

    Knowle-Bracciali [-125] *Bovada price*
That's 20 cents off the market.

Good work. I wish there was an American book that I could get futures prices with. I'd imagine Paes/Stepanek to be around +300 or so with the B-brothers the fave.

              7.2.12: Tuesday ATP Doubles Parlay @ Wimbledon: Bryans + Lindstedt-Tecau [-133]
You've got the defending Champs in the Bryans to start this parlay. They have to like that their 2012 nemesis, the team of Myrnyi-Nestor, has been eliminated already. They were not troubled in either of their 1st two matches, both straight sets wins. They now meet the French duo of Llodra-Clement who upset the 14th seeds last round. Clement played sparingly in doubles this year, while Llodra played with Nenad Zimonjic until the French Open. The duo agreed to break after that through the Olympics so Zimonjic could pair with Tipsarevic in preps for the Olympics. Llodra has been battling a bad back, so perhaps his inclusion her was a bit of a surprise. Bryans should be focused. Lindstedt-Tecau quietly go about their business, having won the doubles title at the Dutch Grass tourney prior to Wimbledon. They have also made two straight Finals @ Wimbledon without raising the trophy. They get the duo of Darcis-Rochus. They rolled through two rounds, including a straight sets whipping of the 12th seeds. Still, experience should be the edge in this one.

Tip to anyone who is playing doubles - Bovada's prices on the favorites are a better deal than elsewhere for the most part. 50 cent difference on the Bryans. 60 cents on Lindstedt-Tecau. Bargain shopping baby.

They must have watched the Bryans. Blew a 2-0 lead and won it in 5.

Don't see any lines posted for tomorrow's three remaining QFs.

                            Lipsky/Ram vs. Bryans
                            Bracciali/Knowle v. Lindstedt/Tecau
                            Dodig/Melo v. Melzer/Petzschner

That last one is the interesting one. Both teams went five hard sets to advance. Dodig/Melo knocking off Paes/Stepanek 9-7, Petz/Melzer going 16-14 over Elgin/Istomin. Melzer/Petzschner really have not had a great year compared to what they had done in the past couple seasons. Injuries forced them to separate for a bit. This is a team though that did win it all here a couple years ago and lost in the quarters to the Bryans last year. They've been taken to five twice and neither was a paricularly highly though of team.

If they hang prices, Dodig-Melo should be stiff underdogs but come off an impressive win with momentum whereas Petz/Melzer seem more like they survived their five setter. I would think +200 or higher hopefully. Worth a squeeze in my estimation.

Two faves in the others probably best as a parlay: Bryans + Lindstedt/Tecau.

Bryans struggling again. Down 2-1. They blew a 4-1 lead in the first and then got broke on their last serve in the 3rd. Yikes.

Man I hate Mixed Doubles. Since they only play at Slams, it is really tough to gauge who is going to do what. Only thing that seems fairly constant is that the top seeds consistently don't win the title.

I wouldn't read a damn thing into line movement on a Mixed Doubles match. Likely all it is is action junkies throwing money on the name they know.

More value in B.Bryan/L.Huber @-230 over A.Ram/K.Peschke, so going to add that to an open parley.
Actually think that R.Bopanna/J.Zheng is a tougher out for M.Bryan/L. Raymond and too much juice @-300.
That Zheng is a feisty one, took Serena too a 3rd set 7-9.

As mapped out earlier, this is a team that has made the finals twice running and is bidding for a third and perhaps best chance to actually raise the trophy. They have played some of the most consistent and best tennis of the teams left, probably the best. They face off against Melzer-Petzschner, one of the teams that beat them in the finals [2010]. It's a chance for revenge, but mainly this duo is playing at an optimum level right now. This will be their biggest battle of the tournament, but if they continue to play as they have to this point - I think they can book another spot in the final.

Bryans done today. Down 0-2. Couldn't talk myself into going against them though against the team they are playing, but I don't see three straight matches where they yank it out in 5.

Lindstedt-Tecau win it in 4. Will play Marray-Nielsen in the final. Curious to see the price. I think Lindstedt-Tecau run the third time's a charm rule in making the final this year. Should at least be useful in a parlay as a high chalk fave.

Said it most of this tournament, Lindstedt-Tecau have played the most consistent tennis and have been in this position three straight years now. The last two, they did not get the big payoff of the title. Marray-Nielsen have had a remarkable run, but in position for a Slam Title - experience should do it. Firmly believe Serena gets the double on Saturday. I think she wants this doubles title as much for her sister as she wants the singles for herself.
