#118Bravo MDF ... I'm very jealous. I'll never be able to go on a run like this. Kind of depressing to think about. haha.
Thanks for the warning about Haas, btw.Comment -

I was right about to reply to you about that PHTOWN...glad you layed off Berdy. I think many people got buried by Berdy today in their parlays. I can usually read Berdy pretty well, I had a strong feeling he was gonna let go on this tourney. Also Haas had one of those "flashes of brilliance" that I warned about. Glad you saved some potential disaster there.Comment -

Yeah, Berdych basically said "He can have this" at the end when he double faulted a couple of times. Haas didn't really earn the break to win the match, but Berdych wasn't going to be cautious with his second serve when the consequences were avoiding a match with Federer and getting more rest. Haas played well throughout. Don't know if he can get past Kohl or Federer, though ... Fed showed some professionalism by not stepping aside in the third-set tiebreak against Raonic today. Can't exactly say if that means he wants to win the tournament, or if he just felt like he needed another match for practice purposes.
I'm still learning. I usually crush the books during grand slams and Masters events, but I still don't get a great read on when the top players will be motivated. That's where the setbacks occur, like when Murray cost me 5 units the other day. I'm beginning to see that taking smaller favorites in the smaller tournaments and waiting until the semifinals to touch the big names is the most profitable way.
I just settled for Youzhny and a Cilic/Querrey parlay today. Unfortunately, the parlay wound up as a push because Lu was worn out from his match with Tipsy earlier and quit in the second set. This rule has worked in my favor in the past, so I'm not upset about it.Comment -

#124Thanks for the tennis picks today. I bet them both. I made a profit of around $72. I'm still grinding up my account. I went from $30 to $200 so far and $100 of that is from tailing some of your picks. I wish you continued success.Comment -

#130We're always in debt to MDF's wisdom. Great picks and a great run for this guy ...
He did the correct thing. If you go on a run like that, and your bills are getting paid, take a break and enjoy the extra income a little. This stuff is way too stressful to not take some time off every now and then, especially if you've just gone on an unconscious hot streak.Comment -
