    Russian to Judgement: 9.19.08
    Srebotnik +167 vs. Kuznetsova
Semis of the Toray Pan Pacific Open & I believe this is a good spot for Srebotnik. The Slovak beat one of the hottest players in women's tennis in Dementieva in the quarters & did it in straight sets. Srebotnik to me has two of the more impressive wins at this tourney, being her win last night & one earlier over Caroline Wozniacki. Kuznetsova has been fighting her way through to this stage and scored the scalp on the top seed Jelena Jankovic yesterday. Paying attention to this match, Kuznetsova was gifted around 19 break point chances from Jankovic and I believe only converted a handful of those. I think Kuznetsova offered up at least a dozen or more of her own breaks to Jankovic. The match easily could have been Kuznetsova's in 2 sets instead of the 3 set dogfight that ensued or a win for Jankovic if she had anything going for her last night. Kuznetsova's 1st serve has been a major problem against her toughest opponents in this tourney in Na Li & Jankovic. Quite honestly, she's fortunate to be at this stage. Revenge could certainly be on her mind after Srebotnik ousted her from the US Open, but with current form & Srebotnik always playing her tough - I believe the + odds are a worthy risk on the Slovak to take down the Russian.

Good luck bro. I don't like Petrova tonight even though she's dominated Safina in their careers. Safina is playing her best tennis ever & I think this is the kind of match she needs to keep her focused. Zheng's gotta shot!

Definitely wasn't a dog day. Zoiks! Srebotnik blew this one for me in the 1st set tie break. She was up 4-1 and wound up losing the break, 7-5 & was done from there.

My tip for tonight - go heavy on Safina. She's got the skills to take advantage of Kuznetsova who's been getting through the last couple of rounds despite a poor serve working. Safina should make her pay for that.
