Back to Romania & a juicy one that looks ripe for a good fight.
Almagro vs. Garcia-Lopez +210
The youngster, Almagro, had a great run at the US Open before flaming out vs. Muller. Almagro is a clay courter thru & thru, making the quarters in the French & losing a couple of clay finals in the Spring. All that being said, GGL has his # so far. 3 for 3 is GGL in head-2-head action vs. Almagro. That includes a 5 set upset at Wimbledon & two clay court wins. He dropped a set to Zverev in Round 1, but promptly bageled him in the final set to win. Almagro conversely was pushed by rookie Devvarman in the opener, scratching out a 7-5 win in the 3rd set. Devvarman, best suited to hard courts, was playing in just his 2nd clay court event EVER.
Almagro is VERY talented and may break thru with a win over Garcia-Lopez, but the price is well worth a risk in what should at least be a 3 setter even if Almagro prevails.
