Riding with three bets tonight on Djokovic ($915 total to win $703). Taking Djokovic at -5, -4.5, and -4 games
Murray's just not mentally tough enough yet to beat Djoko. Maybe in a year or so after he develops a consistently strong serve(highly possible), but with these circumstances and the talent as it stands today, it's going to be a monumental task for Murray. Even if Djoko is at 80%, that will still be plenty enough to straight set Andy.
No disrespect to Andy's game ....just shows how incredibly talented his opponent is at all facets of the game.
Some believe that Andy wont be feeling much pressure in this match....I disagree. Anytime you're going up against the best player on the planet in a grand slam semi, you bet there's pressure...especially when the entire UK will be counting on him to bring home a long awaited slam. Remember that post game interview a la 2010 when he lost to Fed and the tears about not being able to bring it home for his countrymen, you bet Andy will be under pressure tonight.
Andy has been lights out this year in other ATP tournies but you can just tell in his tone of voice during interviews, whenever they mention about a grand slam, the confidence is just not there and rightfully so as Djoko, Nadal, and Fed are in their own league in terms of talent versus the remaining top ten players.
I hope Murray does when a slam later this year but I just cant see taking Andy with the +5 games in this spot.
Good Luck everyone!
