    Australian Open Day 8 picks
    YTD 34-27 +9.94

Very good day yesterday, I hate tonights card. I usually scale back my wagering as tournaments progress and judging from the lines being offered, I will probably be doing the same this year.

I already posted the Ferrer pick in the day 7 thread yesterday.

    Ferrer -190 risk 1.90

Ferrer is by far my favorite player on the ATP tour. Certainly not an imposing player physically, he plays with a ton of fight and is absolutely tenacious in these long matches. He possesses great athleticism and stamina which should really give him a huge advantage on another hot day, he isnt going to be calling for the trainer or moping around the court if he stubs his toenail or he falls behind or a cricket scares him like some of these players. I cant remember the last time I was disappointed in a Ferrer effort on the court

The h2h head stats are 5-1 in Ferrers favor though its been awhile since they played and they havent played a 5 setter against each other. Ferrer started the year by winning at Auckland and his hard court stats are impressive, and his numbers in five setters are even more impressive. He made it to the semis here last year losing to Murray and while the Ryan Sweeting 5 setter was a little surprising seeing Ferrer tested the way he was,he never lacks composure and especially tenacity and stamina in these long matches.

This should be a great match and Gasquet has looked really good so far, winning a straight-sets victory over Tipsarevic. People were saying that Tipsy had jet lag or didnt feel well, but it was still a very impressive victory. Gasquets numbers on hard court are nowhere as impressive as Ferrers have been especially recently but most people know about his offcourt problems.Expect some long rallies as neither player has the serve to shorten up these games. Gasquets numbers in 5 setter are pretty average, and even though Gasquet looks good lately you have to go with Ferrer in this one.

    Parlay Djokovic/Murray/Tsonga/Zheng -118 risk 1.18

This parlay is the only way I am going to touch the Zheng match at these numbers. She is looking great to start this year winning in auckland and even though I lost my Bartoli wager, Zheng just outplayed her in every aspect of the game. Zheng hasnt been really tested yet in this tourney ,she hasnt dropped a set here and is crushing her opponents. Errani doesnt possess a strong serve or really anything to overpower her opponents, but Zhengs serve isnt exactly a giant killer either. The over may be worth looking at here, probably lots of breaks in this one.

    Parlay Djokovic/Murray/Tsonga/Sharapova -148 risk 1.48

I was pretty surprised to see Lisicki come back against Kuznetsova and she may always be a risky wager with her health but she does possess a strong serve which really sets her apart in the womens game. I thought about this match as soon as I saw it, I remember the Lisicki /Sharapova match last year at Wimbledon and Sharapova just dominated her during the match crushing Lisickis second serve.

Lisicki will have to get that first serve in here to have any chance. Sharapova is serving well, though that can always change in an instant , and has been just crushing her opponents serves.

if ever there was an ATP guy that has a vagina, Gasquet is it.

line is -190 but might as well be -10,000. will be a match of heart vs. vagina in this one.
