A day late, but everyone knows its the WTA and a monkey with a racket sometimes has just as good a chance of winning in these grand slams..Also the aussie IMO has the best chance of a no body making it to the QF or semis and giving you a good chance to hedge..

Petrova..500-1...Some say washed up but she still has some game and has showed spurts last 2 years..

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova..150-1..Wish she would lose a little bit more weight but the NEXT ESPN girl has the game to so it.

Barthel 250-1..What the hell right? Dominated Keo last night 6-0 before retirement and more than any player is on fire right now!!

Makarova..Made the 4th round last year and is 1000-1..Maybe a case of a lucky draw..but give that price with her knowing that she can win here.

Cilbulkova 250-1..Midget dynamite power...has made it to the QF and farther before in majors, only has to win 4 matches to make me a profit..

Benesova...4th round last year..a win already and still 1000-1

Peng...300-1..Baseline you to death..plays Benesova so you get one of them in the final 32..

Georges..250-1..Due to break through in a major..Made it to 3rd round in all 4 majors..one or 2 more here would be cash money..

Very interesting thread Beefcake. WTA is so hard to to find values in favorites on futures wagers.

I stopped making futures wagers on wta unless its one of those "will not win" or "the field" options. I love stuff like this, I just wish I had of seen this thread earlier. If Makarova wins you could buy a Porsche on a 50$ wager and progressively betting her on the ml. Most people end up hedging

I love futures plays too Beefcake, you might only hit one a year but damn it's a good feeling when you do. If you have the commitment to do it you can usually get much better odds by just backing the player you have in mind every game on the ML - but it's hard mentally to do that - not many can pull the trigger on a $1,000 bet on a outsider even if you started with the same $50 - so in practice I do futures because it still gives you the chance of that nice little lottery win - it locks in your recklessness

Barthel gone..Benesova plays Azarenka next in 4th round. Since Victoria will now be a HUGE fav over her(-800 -1000??),its time to put a futures wager on Vika to hopefully make some profit..

Well, down to final 3 of Makarova(down to 420-1),Georges(270-1), and Benesova(420-1)

Still no way to hedge IMO...Williams is -1500 and Azarenka is -2200 and Radwanska is -550..Maybe I should bet a 3 team parlay, if it wins, i get back some profit from the futures, which honestly I only bet about .25 units on each. 2 units total..

It would pay about -300 for all three...Could bet 9 units to win 3...parlay hits up 1 unit..Game over..
Parlay loses...Down 11 units with at least a 50 unit winner pending, but would have to commit a hell of a lot for 3 more rounds

Other option, bet futures on all 3(not worth it becasue 2 are +350 roughly)

Maybe bet a future on Radwanska at +3000...And hope their is another upset and she can make it to the semis?

Or most likely do nothing and if something happens great..

Nope. I think your effective hedge down there is to grab Kvitova who should punish Errani and should Makarova pull off the upset against Sharapova - you've got a two-fer.

love the aussie open. im in the states so, gives me something to watch at night, plus the women are gorgeous. some of them anyway. only put 20 on sharapova but its already worth it win or lose. 20 for 2 weeks of entertainment and the possibility of 800 bucks. she needs to finish this now, really hoping errani can get one more match.
