#743Isner still not able to get it together. Broken again. I'm playing the under in the Dolgopolov-Tomic match now at 40. Side is just too tough to figure out. Shari's read earlier, Tomic has lots of trouble with Dolgo's game ... but who the F is confident that Dolgo can hold up at this stage? I just think there will be some lopsided sets and if it goes less than five, the under should hit.Comment -

#748Adding ...
Tomic-Dolgopolov Under 40 [-115]
Dolgo has owned this brief series and Tomic's camp has already pretty much admitted that Dolgo's game gives Tomic trouble. Even if that isn't the case, there have been a lot of lopsided sets played with Dolgpolov traditionally. Would also be EXTREMELY rare to see someone play three straight five set matches [Dolgopolov] - so my gut says this one is over before this number hits.Comment -

#756Whats up guys. I know this isn't the right place to be asking this, but im not sure where the right place is and u guys seem cool ..
Im new to the world of tennis betting. Have always focused on NBA/ NHL.. but im a bit intrigued with how it works and would like to become more knowledgeable about it..
Briefly, could you just explain how the different wager options work..
Obviously ..
A -115
B +130
You bet A or B to win the match straight up.
But how does the over under work?
What are total points?
Any help would be appreciated.Comment -

#757I know this is a strange question, but how good are you guys at identifying when balls are out, or when there's faults? It may be my eyes or my tv, but during this isner match there's been like 10 times where I could've sworn balls were in/out or were faults instead of aces.
and bad beat with Isner, the guy has heart and battled back a couple times.Comment -

B = betting $100 to win $130.
The $100 in this example is arbitrary.
over/under are on the total games. like in this isner match, he won 3 games in the first set + 7 games in the second, ect, add all those up and with the other guys games and you have unders/overs.
say the total for the isner lopez match was 35. count up all the games in the match and you get 52 games, so if you bet over, you would've won.
if you see Isner -6, that means he has to win by more than 6 games.Last edited by DR225; 01-20-12, 02:11 AM.Comment -

Another betting option is the handicap which is like a point spread where one player will need to win by a certain number of games.
Hope this helps and welcome to the tennis world. It can be fun and frustrating to bet on this sport, haha. I've learned that the past few days for sure.Comment -

#763And EP, I like that total bet on Tomic/Dolgo for the very reasons I like betting over 3.5. Dolgo is the main culprit of bagels, whether giving or receiving... 5 sets is a lot to cover for 2 guys who aren't really conditioned well enough to push it that far again tonight. And if they do, there's no way they don't throw a stinker in there.Comment -

#764The Over/Under is for the total games played per match. The "games" are the numbers you see for each "set." A player needs to get to 6 games to win the set. Men's matches are best of 5 and Women's are best of 3. You need to win a set by 2 games or in a tiebreak which is why you will see 7-6 from time to time (that set would have gone to a tie break).
Another betting option is the handicap which is like a point spread where one player will need to win by a certain number of games.

Gonna tail the previously posted play Dolpogolav/tomic under 40 for a half unit.. ill see what I can learn from it.
Again, I appreciate the input from everyone and wish you all a profitable year.
