Why is Haase at +235 vs. Monatens
Haven't watched any match this week but this just seems very weird. Is there something I am missing?

haase didn't look that good from what i saw vs seppi.. Not only will he be mentall weak, being his first final, but montanes is playing better than him and is a much stronger clay courter. The odds make sense to me, but I would never back montanes at that heavy of a price.

I'll be rooting for him, good to see guys win their first title. Especially someone as talented as Haase who has been suffering from injuries his whole career

The line opened for Haase at Pinnacle at +170(2.70) and is now at +241 (3.41) .I subscribe to Sports Options and they usually have this little voice that calls out "steam play" when you see these type of moves but they never do that in tennis usually, they must not feel like the volume of wagering on tennis is worth registering as a notice.

I rarely follow line movements in tennis matches on sports options and I really dont put much into this one. If I were wagering on this match , this is a great price on Haase, he has looked great most of the week and while Montanes is certainly the superior clay player at the ATP level historically , I would wager on a player like Robin at this price any day of the week.

haase had downs against souza and seppi. his serve did not always work well. against seppi he faced a lot of break points . while against lopez he served like a champ. i think haase will be pumped for this one. but montanes is in good form. i can't bet on haase to win outright i don't have the guts but i like the handicap at +4.

Haase have never lost a final in ATP or Challenger, 8-0 so far but have to agree with the comments above,Montanes is simply a better claycourter and i think he takes this in 2

Great call Noober, another massive line move in tennis that didnt mean a thing. Haase may be someone to really watch out for if he stays healthy, impressive victory today.

Line moves in tennis are often irrational, yes. Occasionally they're based on reality, on-site stuff like guys seen at the trainer, or being useless in practice, or they've said they feel like crap on twitter/local media etc.

Then of course there are outright fixes. Not a problem in later rounds though.

As an average though, closing lines are no more accurate than opening. My standard assumption is it's just a tennis betting service directing the weight of money.

Nice hit with this one. I was leaning towards Montanes since he's better on clay, but you talked me out of it!
