In any case, putting together a contest to run for the next four tournaments of the US hard court series leading to the US Open since we missed out on Atlanta. Details coming this weekend. Format will be unique to all other formats I've run for these. Stay tuned!

FORMAT & RULES
For this series of tournaments, we are going to run an X-change program to test your skill as tournaments progress. Prior to each tournament, you will select one player that you must keep until the quarterfinals for ATP 250 level tournaments and for their first two matches for ATP 500 & 1000 level tournaments. Once your player has gotten to this point in the tournament or lost as the case may be, you can choose to continue to ride with that player for the remainder of the tournament or X-change to a different player if you think someone else looks like a better bet to go deeper in the tournament as it has progressed.

If you choose to X-change to a new player, you will be charged a points fee. This is a SBR points fee. To be eligible for you X-change to count for a tournament, you must pay the fee by the day of the Championship match of the tournament. Failure to do so will result in your disqualification for that specific tournament. YOU WILL be able to continue to play the other tournaments, but you will net ZERO points for the tournament you default on.

POINTS X-CHANGE FEE
ATP 250: 5 SBR points
ATP 500: 8 SBR points
ATP 1000: 10 SBR points


ENTRY FEE & DEADLINES
For the contest, a 15 point SBR fee is required. This covers you for the duration of the contest that covers the five tournaments. So if you choose not to X-change any of your selections, you can conceivably play the entire way for 15 points total.

Your original entry fee of 15 points is due upon entry of your first player for the Los Angeles tournament. If you are a NON-PRO or have a low point balance, you can pay 3 points per day for five days to cover your entry fee. Preferred method of payment is all 15 at once if at all possible.

The DEADLINE to pick your original player for each tournament will be prior to the beginning of the first match of each tournament. I will attempt to post the DEADLINE for each tournament if the schedule of play is out.

ALL ORIGINAL PLAYER SELECTIONS SHOULD BE PM'ed TO EAGLESPHAN36 ONLY! Once they are received, I will post them in the contest thread for each tournament.

When you decide to make a PLAYER X-CHANGE, you can do so in the X-CHANGE thread as long as you have made your X-CHANGE prior to your ORIGINAL PLAYER AND X-CHANGE PLAYER playing their next match.

I will make a separate X-CHANGE PLAYER THREAD for the contest so easily track who X-changes players and for tracking payments. PLEASE MAKE YOUR X-CHANGE player selections & payments HERE ONLY!

SCORING
The following covers both Original Player Selections & X-Change player selections.

Match Win: 20 points
Match Win in straight sets: 7 points
Match Win as Underdog of +110-+199: 5 points
Match Win as Underdog of +200=+299: 10 points
Match Win as Underdog over +300: 20 points
Match Lost: -10 points
Match Lost as Favorite of -200 or more: -15 points

For any entrant who keeps his original player selection for the duration of a tournament.

Making the semifinals: 25 points
Making the finals: 50 points
Winning the title: 100 points

For any entrant who makes an X-change during the tournament, this is the scoring for their X-change player.

Making the semifinals: 13 points
Making the finals: 25 points
Winning the title: 50 points

Thanks for doing this man. I'm down but am a little confused about it. I will pick Nadal and never change my player So do I just send you 3 sbr points a day in this thread or what?

You can pick whichever player you want for each tournament. If you want to pick Nadal for each tournament, that is fine. I would suggest waiting until before each tournament happens to choose a player as withdrawals, draws, injuries, etc. might make you choose a different player each tournament. But otherwise, all you owe if you never want to make a player X-change is the original 15 point entry fee. If you have all 15 now, pay it all now. If not, pay it a few points per day until you reach 15.

I will update standings at the end of the LA tournament tomorrow. This contest runs the duration of the US Open series of tournaments, so the prizes will not be payed out until the last tournament is played near the end of August.

By the way, Legg Mason Classic in DC is up next. Here is a link to the draw. Be sure to take a look and select your original player for that tournament. DEADLINE will be sometime on Monday when I get a better handle on what times the matches will begin.
