Not the worst spot - Isner doen't like the low bounce here.

Bit suspicious of the markets here, Beck isn't unfamiliar with that. Nothing terribly clearcut though.

This beck wager is not a bad bet at all especially with the handicap. I went ahead and took Isner for winner here in the contest and wagered on him today with the handicap but I am not real confident.

I think Isner is the best player at this US tourney, his grass record is not great but you have to look at the competition here , and he certainly could use the points as his ranking continues to tumble. I was watching the Greg Jones/Rochus match and Jones is not a short guy by any means and didn't look too troubled by the bounce and play of the court, he just made his usual number of unforced errors in the third and it was over.

I am just hoping the Isner serve will get him through a pretty easy draw after this first match. If he can get by Beck he will probably be looking at Harrison and maybe Bogomolov or Gremelmayr and probably face Kamek in the semis. This is actually one of his toughest matches of the whole tourney , it wouldnt shock me to see him lose here but we will see.

One thing that annoys me about Isner is his twitter feed, he sometimes seems so disinterested in tennis. He is always talking about tv or movies, but that seems to be so true with alot of players. Reading tennis players twitter feeds is rarely worth the time.

Thats hard to say in my experience, yesterday all the favorites did well. Today may be the same case and you can sometimes get + numbers if you lay the handicap with the favorite.

5dimes has a great option where you can lay a half or whole game more than the handicap originally offered for better numbers, sort of dangerous to do at a minor tourney like this.

You never really know how motivated people really are in the summer at these minor tourneys, from Isners twitter he may just want to get home to watch "Wire", I hope not. I am wagering on him today.
