Nicolas Almagro ( -2.5 ) -125 OVER Jurgen Melzer ( ATP Monte Carlo)
LAKER_CRAZY'S TENNIS PLAY NUMBER 3 FOR TODAY

    3) Nicolas Almagro Vs Jurgen Melzer ( Pick Nicolas Almagro - 2.5 @ -125) : ( I unit Play)

I was Going through this match up rather carefully right now and given that Melzer is ranked Number 9 in the world as compared to Almagro who is at 12 right now,The books are making almagro a clear favorite in this match up and i second that. Both Almagro & Melzer are coming off 3 set wins in their previous rounds, though it must be added that almagro had to grind it out in 3 tough sets against Gonzalez before prevailing 7-6 in the decider.I would say that even though almagro did not look his best against Gonzalez, there are no two opinions on the fact that he does relish playing on clay.

The Head to Head meetings between these two are split at 1-1.Melzer won on in straight sets on hard court in 2010 ( ATP Vienna) whereas Almagro Demolished him ( 6-3,6-1) on Clay in Madrid ( 2010).I think Almagro is better suited to this surface and even though melzer might put up a fight,i see good value in almagro covering this handicap with ease.Good luck

    Cheers,

    LC

Thanks Mate,I did not look into that game much, but yes robredo retiring would have had a 50-50 effect on the punters,for/against.Good luck

Only thing I could grab was a straight bet at -190. I am usually not a big favorite guy, but let's do this!

Don't know much about Tennis but on Yahoo Sports, it is showing Almagro up 0-1 in first set, is this wrong?

Ugly ******* spaniard broken again. This match is gonna be over in minutes. Melzer is playing competently, while Almagro sprays the errors all over like a WTA player.

He's not winning. He's playing like he wants to go home ASAP. Just broken again for 6-1. There's no way he wins this match, let alone covers the handicap. Stupid Spaniard piece of shit.

When you're off, you lose sets faster on clay than hard. At least on hard, you can get more cheap serve points.

Almagro is overmatched today. Melzer is hitting shots when he needs to. Couldn't even ******* break when he got like 3 lucky points in that game.

Almagro terrible first set, perhaps stiff body after a 3 hour match yesterday. Turning now though perhaps.

Almagro with the break. Much more competitive 2nd set with less WTA play. Let's see if he holds it. I expect him to get broken now with the way things are going
