apologies to those who tailed my earlier 3 plays. thought melzer beating ljubicic meant something - apparently not. ferrero-verdasco - based on their previous 5 encounters, whoever has won the 1st set won the match and only once did it go over 23. the harrison play was just plain silly.

Ferrer vs Ferrero Over 22 WON

These two have played each other 7 times and Ferrer leads the h2h 5-2. But here is an interesting stat, of these 7 h2h encounters 6 were best of 3 set matches and these were the game totals of each of these matches: 30, 34, 31, 29, 31, 25. And might I just add these all went to three sets! There is definite value on the Over 22 ~~and if you're feeling a bit game then 3 sets total isn't a bad play either.~~

Apparently my bookie got the h2h record wrong. it's ferrer 6-2 and that aditional match was a 6-4 6-2 thumping for ferrer but I do believe Ferrero will make ferrer work for it, whether it's in 3 sets or 2 long sets.

Like the play, have looked into it too - for some reason it feels like I've never won one of these "most previous H2H have gone over therefore this one has a good chance" spots, hoping this one is different.

yeah ferrero is retiring soon so i'm hoping that's motivation to stretch ferrer and possibly win it in the end.

i dunno about the over 20.5. if murray plays the way he did against nadal he'll win this in a 6-2 6-2 type scoreline. best to leave it alone imo.

Took Ferrer live at almost even odds late in the second set so if he wills it will be an alright profit.

Roddick M/L LOSS

First of all, Ferrer shouldn't even be here. He played poorly in the first 2 sets and would have lost in the 2nd set if it wasn't for the Ferrero injury. His forehand wasn't on and he just kept making error after error and Ferrero was just owning him from the baseline. The fact that he played so poorly a bit of a concern cause you know Ferrer won't play 2 bad matches on the trot. But even still, Roddick looked so good yesterday and his serve was unbreakable - reminding me of the Roddick of Wimbledon 2009.

Second of all, this is a MASSIVE MASSIVE letdown spot for Ferrer. With that win against Ferrero, he's officially qualified for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. This is the complete opposite for Roddick who is an outside chance of qualifying but he MUST win this match.

True Ferrer will want to avenge that US Open lost but whether he'll have the form and the desire to is a completely different matter.
