Last tournament of the season and we seem to have a really solid group of regulars at this point. Thinking about organizing a tournament for next week if there is enough interest. Sign in here if you're interested and I will post some ideas on format in a bit.

#11Think we'll have plenty of participants at this rate, so I will go forward with working on the format. Should be posting some preliminary ideas in a few hours. Please give feedback on the ideas as this contest is being made for you the posters here at SBR, so I want to make sure it's fun for everyone.Comment -

#12maybe you can ask Lou to give some prize points (he did that for the french open and wimbledon).
as for the format, i suggest doing a unit system since there aren't going to be that many matches.Comment -

#15Firstly for anyone not familiar with the set-up of the ATP Tour Finals. The top eight players make the field. They are divided into two groups of four for Round Robin play. The top two players from each group advance to the semifinals.
Okay some ideas to consider.
1. ENTRANTS MUST PLACE A WAGER ON EVERY MATCH.
I think this helps have the fairest set-up possible and also means that we should find out who the best handicapper is for this event at least by the end of the event. ANY ENTRANT WHO DOES NOT MAKE A SELECTION FOR A MATCH WILL BE GIVEN A 1.5 UNIT PENALTY. ANY PICK MADE AFTER THE LISTED MATCH STARTING TIME WILL ALSO BE PENALIZED THIS 1.5 UNITS.
2. ALL WAGERS ARE "TO WIN" or "TO RISK" & MONEY LINES ONLY
Example here is say it's Federer -300 vs. Roddick at +250. If you want to bet on Federer, you are risking 3 units to win 1. If you bet on Roddick, you are risking 1 unit to win 2.5.
3. ONCE THE GROUPS ARE ANNOUNCED, ENTRANTS WILL PICK THEIR FOUR SEMIFINALISTS, TWO FINALISTS AND A CHAMPION.
EACH CORRECT SEMIFINALIST = ONE UNIT BONUS
PICKING ALL FOUR SEMIFINALISTS CORRECTLY = 6 UNIT BONUS
PICKING BOTH FINALISTS = 8 UNIT BONUS
PICKING THE CHAMPION = 12 UNIT BONUS
4. PRIOR TO THE FIRST MATCH BEING PLAYED, EACH ENTRANT IS ALLOWED TO PICK ONE PLAYER FROM THE LIST OF EIGHT AS THEIR WILDCARD.
What does this mean? It means you accrue bonus units based on your player's record. Each win they pick up as a FAVORITE nets you an additional 0.25 units. Each win they pick up as an UNDERDOG will net you an additional 0.50 units. Each LOSS your player picks up when listed as a favorite greater than -110 results in a LOSS OF 0.50 units. This wildcard player is meant to make you think about who you want to take. You'll have to consider what your player might be as far as a favorite or underdog vs. the others in his group + do you want to have a guy who advances out of the group with the possibilities of more points won/loss or take a longshot who might lose three matches and be done? Your choice. Entrants can have the same player chosen as another entrant.
Give me some feedback on this ideas and we'll go from there. I've got an inquiry into Lou about having SBR donate some points for a prize, so I'll wait to hear back from him before discussing any sort of entry fee.
**Also, all lines will be posted by ME via Pinnacle Sports along with listed starting times. Those times may/may not jive with the actual start times, but will serve as the deadline for picks to be made on the match.
