      11-16 -4.45
de Bakker over Gasquet +160 - Tokyo has the fastest outdoor hard courts ive seen, Thiemo has a huge serve. Why not take your chances here, I see a 50/50.
Dodig over Seppi +160 - Another match in Tokyo, we all know Dodig has a huge Croatian serve. Dodig qualified here so we know he has some preparation, Seppi though made an early exit in Bucharest so he has had a lot of time to prepare also. Dodig can hold his own here of course but Seppi should control majority of the rallies, why not take your chances again here with huge odds, Seppi isn't a great hardcourt player.
Bellucci over Cilic +230 - Let me get this straight for you, Bellucci retired in his last match in Davis Cup because of heat, don't forget he played an epic 5 setter the day before. Bellucci clearly has been training for about 2 weeks in preparation for this event. Beijing surface has a huge bounce and Bellucci loves that looping forehand. Bellucci isn't the best hardcourter but he is trying to adapt to the hard courts. Cilic is in deep shit right now, can you tell me why you would back him at this massive price. He almost passed out from heat at US Open, he made a billion unforced errors in Metz against Kohlschreiber. It's a simple fade of Cilic with very healthy odds here.
Ljubicic over Youzhny +220 - Feel free to count how many sets Youzhny played over in Kuala Lumpur, three 3 setters, a bunch of doubles matches too. Youzhny is in nice form but he's not at his highest level, sure he made semis of US Open and won Malaysia but he went the distance almost everywhere and didn't face the toughest competition - beating Baghdatis though was impressive. Ljubicic though is getting real old and his baseline game is really dwindling. He clearly doesn't want to go out like this, in Metz he played Malisse hard but tanked that 2nd set. He has back problems, he is very weird to gauge, that run in Indian Wells sure caught me by surprise. Youzhny is going for number 8 for London WTF but he has no points to defend here and he surely has to be tired and switching surfaces doesn't help.

I can't go against Gasquet because his serve is hands down better than De Bakker.

Fading Youzhny might be a good one here

          GOOD LUCK!

well gasquet definitely has more variety. it's really too bad we can't watch this match though, its gonna be lots of long rallies and i love both of their games so much because they serve and volley a decent amount.

Straight downfall right now but i gotta try to turn this around
Gimeno-Traver over Nieminen +130 - Rematch of US Open first round but these courts are much quicker. Gimeno-Traver, although he's a claycourter, he's got a big serve. I don't really see why Jarkko is such a big favorite here, its a significant drop off though, -150 here and -300 at US Open. Jarkko is on a good run but there has to be a little bit of fatigue here. He switched surfaces and was able to take out Tsonga who hadn't played since Wimbledon. DGT though should be able to hold easier than Jarkko, there will be a lot of DGT's forehand vs. Jarkko's backhand here and Gimeno should get the best of that. Jarkko has an effective serve too but DGT should also get more cheap points.
Isner over Kohlschreiber +135 - Isner's matches usually disregard a lot of tennis analysis. Kohlschreiber took out Karlovic last year in this tournament and the first 2 sets were complete toss ups. This surface is quick and high bouncing benefiting both players, but Isner's serve will be lethal. The kicker to Kohlschreiber's one hander will be hard to time and Isner got through his dreaded first round, he's always much stronger with a match under his belt. On the other hand Kohlschreiber should be able to hold if he is able to do his 1-2 punch, which he was doing quite well to Verdasco.
Davydenko over Cilic -120 - Both of these guys are completely out of form. Beating Bellucci and Florian Mayer on these hardcourts says nothing. It's also a huge match because Davydenko is freefalling through the rankings right now. Davydenko likes to dictate, taking the ball early going for big angles and Cilic likes to play defensive time to time and explode on the forehand. I'm liking Davy here, he has to turn it around and he will be playing with serious urgency.

Gimeno-Traver had 6 ******* set points in that 2nd set and no doubt in my mind Nieminen would be low on gas in the 3rd, but too bad.
Chardy over Roddick +270 - Roddick really wasn't convincing against Ito in the first round, he's got a match under his belt but still Chardy's game is perfect for this surface. Huge serve and flat groundstrokes, the only problem with this is Roddick is 100x mentally stronger than Chardy in crucial moments. But with these big odds why not try?
Almagro over Soderling +250 -Soderling has been so unconvincing, his serve has been way worse in my opinion but his ground game is still solid. Almagro beat Soderling 2x this year and in Bastad final in Sweden where he had this massive celebration on a Soderling double fault... Soderling was crying during that ceremony and he clearly wants revenge. Almagro's massive top spin suits perfectly for this high bouncing surface, Soderling will need to provide tons of power on serve for cheap points and the ground game is a lot closer than these odds suggest.
Dolgopolov over Ljubicic -120 - Ljubicic has been terrible, back issues and such and his ground game is weak. He can surprise us especially in Indian Wells but i don't see this run continuing. He was able to upset Youzhny because Youzhny played a billion sets in Kuala Lumpur in both doubles and singles. Dolgo and Ljubicic both served below 50% in the first round, if that happens again people think Ljubicic's experience should help him? Dolgo will win the majority of any rallies and he goes big on returns, its gonna be tight but go with the youngster here.

I capped Chardy, Almagro, and Dolgopolov as well. I may very likely be on all 3 we will see. Think it maybe a nice day for us.

Almagro gave it a good run, but Dolgopolov odds completely changed. He had some kind of health problem or a fix??
Simon over Djokovic +340 - Simon had a great run in Metz but looks pretty bad here, he got through 2 poor matches especially his last one where he hits tons of errors and barely beat a choking Berrer. Don't expect this form to continue with 2 matches under his belt, he is going to give the defending champion Djokovic a great test. These odds are quite ridiculuos in my opinion, Simon isn't a mental mug and usually plays Djokovic very close. They both have nice first serves and there should be tons of great rallies here.
GGL over Troicki +125 - They keep putting Garcia-Lopez with these weird odds because he just won Bangkok and is due for a loss. He had a day off so he is definitely rested and Troicki is the one coming off a 3 set tie break with choking Melzer. Troicki has a nice serve with 18 aces in his last match but GGL has a nice serve also. It should be close and GGL is rimming with confidence and should be much stronger in crucial moments. Odds should be tighter in my opinion and i'm looking for GGL to keep this going.
Isner over Davydenko +130 - Davydenko took out Cilic but Cilic has been in terrible form. It doesn't matter how well Davy does in rallies if he really can't touch Isner's serve. Davy hates the high bouncing kick serves and has always had trouble with them. It's gonna be real real tough to break Isner and I like Isner's chances in tight moments like he was against Kohlschreiber.

OMG did anyone see Nadal-Troicki in the 3rd set. Nadal served for it at 5-3 then at 5-5 he missed 3 easy forehands in a row. Next game Troicki is up 30-15 at 6-5 and he hits a volley winner called out, its challenged and in but troicki is forced to replay the point. He then hits a double, misses an easy forehand. tiebreaker at 6-6 troicki hits a sick backhand winner but then chokes on the next 2 points and nadal takes his first match point!

I'm gonna add Ferrer over Ljubicic -210, I don't think ljub will keep going

when Troicki was serving for the match at 5-4 and 30-15 ... linesman mistake and it should have been 40-15 and 2 mp cant believe troicki didnt have a fit!

Golubev over Tipsarevic +130 - Golubev has had a week off to prepare for this, completely disregard his loss to Montanes as he had to switch from indoors to outdoors in a matter of a day. It looks like it's raining and that would be a plus for Golubev as the match would then be indoors, Tipsy and Golubev will both try to get tons of depth on the returns in this match. I like Golubev's form at the moment and I think it will be that little bit easier for him on serve today.

Continuing to take some tough losses but i'm gonna keep it going.
Seppi over Cilic +320 - Seppi can play a little on hardcourts, I mean he's much better on clay but he can get it done. Seppi should have a slight edge on the ground because of how bad Cilic's form is, the Croat is just hitting unforced errors every time I watch him. Seppi can win this.
Gimeno-Traver over Melzer +230 - Gimeno-Traver continues to play some good ball on hardcourts, he obviously has good groundies but his first serve is dangerous. Melzer is clearly out of form and I like DGT's chances here to pick up an upset.

Gimeno-Traver over Melzer +230 DGT had set points, he served for the 2nd set too, disappointing.

GGL over Berdych +210 - GGL got lucky passing by Roddick and with all these wins it's gotta be hitting him mentally. No doubt though he was in good form recently, he's got a nice game and he's strong mentally too (remember he beat Nadal in bangkok). As for Berdych, we know he was sick against Robredo, he went for big shots and it paid off. His serve has left him lately as his form has dropped considerably, these odds are way off imo. This isn't the same strong Berdych expect a close match.
Gasquet over Djokovic +445 - Don't get me wrong I got tons of respect for Djokovic and yes he will come out here and play Gasquet as tough as possible but these odds are HUGE. Gasquet probably would have won Metz if he didn't get sick and if it rains tomorrow this match will be indoors giving Gasquet more of an advantage. Gasquet can hold his own his rallies, create some sick angles and really trouble Djokovic. His serve has been giving him cheap points too and the guy even serves and volleys, i'll take these odds for a great player who is clearly in good form.

Finally some dogs hitting for me! Murray/Monaco is unplayable for me and I had a play on Federer but he opens at -145.... terrible odds, I thought Fed would be -120 max maybe even Djokovic favorite, any thoughts on this?

Djokovic over Federer +125- Federer has had strong matches this tournament to set up this one, he took out big serving Isner, a tough baseliner in Seppi and then he dismantled a slightly out of form Soderling. Djokovic on the other hand has been steamrolling people throughout the Asian swing. Now with reasons to back both guys, I just wanna know why Federer is such a big favorite...?? The value lies with Djokovic here imo, they must think Federer is pumped up for this match, he wants revenge for the US Open defeat, well I think Djokovic might take him out again.

Berrer over Nieminen +135 - The battle of two lefties here, Berrer the big server and Nieminen the crafty baseliner. If you remember these 2 played a final in a challenger last year in Austrai, the very last match of 2009, Berrer won as an underdog there in 3 sets. Nieminen is in much better form here but got a fever and then hurt his back and had to withdraw in Tokyo. No doubt he was in form though, beating Benjamin Becker twice, taking out Troicki, Melzer before losing to GGL in the Bangkok final in 3 tight sets. He beat Tsonga in his first match back, as a defending champ in Tokyo. Don't doubt Berrer though, he took out Berdych in Beijing and choked his ass off a set and a break up against Gilles Simon. Berrer is built for indoor courts and with a medium fast bounce here in Stockholm I like my chances taking Berrer here.

Cuevas over Brands +110 - Brands beat Marchenko and de Bakker in Bangkok using some nice net play, we all know he has a huge serve. Cuevas is a mentally strong player in my opinion and he will be able to hold serve easier with his massive kicker to Brand's backhand.
Maximo Gonzalez over Golubev +380 - Weird bounces here in Moscow, Golubev is very prone to going on his huge error streaks and with Maximo on a 10 game clay challenger streak shows hes in pretty good form. Golubev took out Maximo in 3 sets earlier in Washington. I don't think this will be as close as it seems, Golubev has the pressure here.

I think Kunitsyn takes this win in an all russian battle.

Hajek was ill though and this doesn't concern me at all, but Kamke having to fly from California to Sweden and then maybe only get one day of practice switching to indoor courts does concern me. Hajek is clearly much stronger on clay courts but he is a good baseliner and can take out Kamke here. I see a surprise here with Hajek getting his first indoor win of the season.

Istomin over PHM -130 - Istomin has been out of form for quite a while, his serve has been off and on at times but he has prepared for this tourny. His win over Marchenko was very strong as he was never broken and his serving was consistent throughout. PHM lost in qualifying but he surely has had enough time with the surface. If Istomin is consistent enough on serve like he should be, he should be able to hold easier than Mathieu. The baseline rallies in this will be very high quality as both of these guys have killer backhands, I'm looking for Istomin's pace to hit through PHM.
Kunitsyn over Golubev +125 - Kunitsyn has taken 4 in a row here and I also backed him over Andreev. He is the 2008 champ and boy is he confident out there on center court. Golubev obviously has a much stronger serve but the baseline rallies is where Kunitsyn will thrive here, if this match was played mostly anywhere else Golubev would be -200+ but on these slower indoor courts with weird bounces Golubev can make tons of errors while Kunitsyn is the kind of guy who is very consistent here. The crowd is going to be behind the Russian instead of the nationality changed Kazakh.
Clement over Ljubicic +200 - The courts here on Stockholm play well for returners here. It's indoor and if Ljubicic is pumping a high enough percentage of first serves than he is going to pile up the aces. The conditions don't favor Ljubicic as much as expected and Clement is going to capitalize in every rally just picking apart Ljubicic on the baseline. Clement can also pass well when Ljubicic will try to come into net but these courts aren't fast enough to heavily favor the Croat. I like my chances here, Clement showed how strong he is on the baseline by destroying O. Rochus in the first round.

He is back in form here, he looks healthy and although his serve is inconsistent once he gets in a groove he doesn't get broken. Kunitsyn will have the crowd behind him against another converted Russian into Uzbekistan, but Istomin won't choke or make nearly as many errors as Golubev did. If Istomin is consistent here he should routine Kunitsyn, he is going to hit through Kunitsyn's baseline game here.

I do believe these courts don't particularly favor Baggy but against Starace he beefed up the serve and got 11 aces in 10 service games. Baghdatis has been out of form imo lately but he looks like he is well prepared here after suffering early exits in the other asian events. Baggy has a title to defend in Stockholm, this one is a nice one to watch and I think Dolgo will have his work cut out for him on the baseline here.

Weird line movement again for Dolgo, -110 and then +180 before the match. Who knows, luckily I was on the right side.
