Murray ready to play fantasy tennis at US Open
NEW YORK: Buoyed by back-to-back wins over Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in Toronto two weeks ago, British tennis champion Andy Murray is looking forward to snaring his first Grand Slam at this year's US Open beginning next week.

He also appears far more concerned about the poor form of his Dream Team - for England football.

"Most nights I stay in my hotel and work on my Fantasy football team. The first week of the season went well - but the second week was bad. I've got Wayne Rooney, who missed Manchester United's last match, Jon Carew, who missed a penalty - and some other Aston Villa players who got spanked by Newcas But I've also got Arshavin, Lampard, Malouda and Arteta. So it's not all bad," The Sun quoted Murray, as saying.

Murray, 23, insists he is in the best shape of his life as he returns to Flushing Meadow, and could meet Federer again in the semis in - and world No. 1 Nadal in the final.

"My preparations have been pretty much perfect. I've just won my first tournament of the year and in terms of fitness it's the best I've ever felt going into the US Open. Now it's just a case of managing my body right over the next few days," he said.

No way. This guy is gonna get so fouled up. In best of 5 you cannot serve at <50% and not get taken advantage of.

If he can serve well he should do well...fed is my pick.

He served 45% vs Nadal and 53% vs Fed in Toronto, and straight setted both :-)

Not such an issue on fast courts - his 2nd ball isn't as attackable.

If he serves at 65% they should start engraving his name in the trophy right now.

Notice the best of 5 caveat. He's a good retriever but still needs to win more free points.

Murray just got a gift with Berdych getting knocked out early.

                Looks a soft quarter now.

                Go Murray

Yeah, that's big for him. Needs to be well rested to thump Nadal in the semi, cos Federer's half is so easy.

We all know who'll get the earlier Saturday semi too....

I don't think Federer's half is as soft as people think. If he has to play Soderling and Djoker anything can happen.
