Last time Nadal wasn't fully healthy, Soderling kicked his ass on the French Open. This surface suits Soderling even better, so oddswise there's lots of value in this play. Hope you hit it!

There are a couple of factors. First soderling will have to serve extremely well. He ll need a high percentage of first serves. Second, if he can manage to return well on nadals serve, he can definitely put pressure on him. But if he plays like he did against david ferrer, it will be hard for soderling to win this match. But again, it is also possible that nadal is not 100% healthy. Keep in mind that although the chances are better for soderling than clay, sodlering is not as comfortable on the grass courts from the baseline. He does have pretty big swings on his forehand, which requires some time to prepare for his shots.

Nadal has never been real comfortable on the grass even though he has had success
He is playing a very very good player today that is just as powerful if not more and good point about the serve

If my boy Soder gets them in he wins 3-0 or 3-1

Bloody hell JJ. You know better than this. No one should be pounding ANYTHING in this match. Absolutely nothing.

I guess I should be thankful this thread is in the tennis forum since most of your PT groupies are too scared to come in here. You're giving out some really bad advice here JJ and I truly hope no one listens to you. I'm not saying I know who is going to win, but if you want to 'pound' anything there are much better bets to make in the matches today rather than this one.

Anyway, best of luck. As I said, I have money on Soderling to win the whole thing but after Nadal's performance against Mathieu I've written that cash off. Maybe I'll be wrong - it's definitely happened many times before and will happen plenty more in the future.

Its possible you lose all of them. You will win 1 of these maximum. Berdych over Federer? This is Wimbledon buddy.

I don't think JJ bets on tennis nad knows much about it.
Soda is on fire right now but its just a matter of time when Nadal or Fed take care of him. I don't know if it's going to happen during Wimbledon but I hope so it will

I just took that for $100. When's the last time you can think of getting odds like that on these two in Wimbledon? Yes please.

Soderling had a minor stomach bug against Ferrer. Don't read too much into that match.

Personally i went for Sod 3-1 at +520. You don't beat Nadal in 5 sets, so taking the straight win is missing a lot of value.

You could also give those guys just a bit of credit to say they've vastly improved their games as well. Berdych has spent the past 6 months with a sports psychologist to work on improving his confidence and has started to use visualization techniques during game breaks to help boost him when feeling low during a match. I think his performance lately as proven it's obviously paid off. As for Soderling, well he's still prone to too many errors, but he sure has improved a hell of a lot in the past 2 years. So although Federer is declining somewhat, the natural order of things ensures other guys are catching up thus bringing them closer to a level playing ground.
