    Better Player:Nadal or Agassi?
I say Agassi due to the fact that Nadal specializes on one surface

Nadal. Agassi won the career slam and I think 8 altogether. All Rafa is missing is the US Open for his career slam and he's proven not to be just a clay specialist.

I agree with EP, Nadal can make the grand slam one day (winning all 3 in the same year), after RF retires.

        Nadal is 24 years old.

Look at what he's done already, AND he already went through a major injury.

Nadal will go down as one of the best players of all time when he retires. Fed and Nadal will dominate the next 10 majors.

I will say though, his book was one of the best biographies I've ever read. Read it 3 times already!

My vote goes to Nadal. Considering his age, unless something goes completely haywire with him, he's going to far surpass Agassi in terms of his tennis legacy. And the fact he's playing at the same time as Federer makes his case that much stronger.

The two eras are entirely different though. Agassi had Sampras, Becker & Edberg I guess as some of his major competitors. Nadal has Federer, Djokovic, Del Potro, Murray and you can throw in a myriad of the other Top 10 guys right now as competition especially on anything but clay. I think Nadal's era is much harder to win in, especially the hard court slams where there are about 4-6 guys who could win the US or Australian Open every year because of the surface and their serve.

Right on. I just think that era was more finesse, whereas today is such a power game on the men's side. Tough to compare some of these players from generation to generation. I do think Agassi and Nadal as far as playing style might be somewhat of a good comparison. Neither guy is a "power player."

Nadal is much more consistent and dedicated to tennis.

Gotta love Agassi though...hard to love Nadal as a person..

And Nadal enjoys to play tennis, Agassi did not..

Have to mark Nadal down for wearing my grandmother's "clam diggers", i think they are even worse then aggasi's acid wash jean shorts.

I would argue that the Agassi Era was far more competitive than the top heavy Nadal era. Those choosing the Nadal era are probably not completely familiar with the competition during Agassi's lengthy career. Impossible to say until the rackets are hung up. Far more serious slam contenders (and winners for that matter) in Agassi's day, unlike the 4 (more like 2) that have won recent men's slams. Undoubtedly there were far more hall of fame worthy men's tennis competitors in Agassi's day than today.

Can't make comparisons like this until both careers are finalised. All I can say is Nadal better make good while his body allows him to because imo his style of play won't be conducive to a long period of domination.

Nadal needs to be 110% fit, strong and fresh to play like he has and like he currently is. He's not like Rodger Federer, who give the impression he could play in a tuxedo .. Nadal's style of play is more physically demanding than most other players and imo, once his body starts to not allow him to give it everything, his level of play might drop off rather dramatically.
