who else was on montanes today?
not much tennis today and was the only play I 'kinda' liked, so i went small on montanes
if you didnt watch that game, it was a thriller
montanes cruised through the match and was ahead 6-2 5-3, could have easily been two breaks up in the second, he missed two match points on gils serve and was then serving for the set and the match at 5-4, by the way he had not faced a break point in the whole game, i even think that gils up to that point was never in front on a montanes serve, so serving for the match, montanes lets the guy break, and i mean that literally, he gave it away, then he breaks back and serves for the match once more only to loose that game to love and lost the tie break too
then third set he goes down TWO whole breaks, so the guy didnt face a break point the whole game, and had suddenly got brocken 4 times in a row having not saved a single break point!!!
and just as i am counting the bet as a loss, he goes on a 6-2 run, breaking gils 3 times to take the third set at 7-5
what a chokejob by gils, up 2 breaks and with the crowd ecstatic and celebrating his every move, and he screwed the pooch, missed the chance to be the first ever portugese player to win an atp title, oh well
