I know this is totally unrelated to anything on this forum, at all, but my son just said his first word: 'Mom' near the end of the Nadal match!! I've been sitting here crying my eyes out ever since so I'm not even sure what's going on with my bets anymore
Considering he was born 2 months early, took 5 minutes to revive him and he spent the first 2 months in hospital, I'm going to assume that him choosing to speak his first word while we were watching tennis means he's either the next Federer or we're going to continue to kick some sportsbook butt thanks to TB's picks in everything.
Wow, just stunned.
Good luck everyone on the rest of your plays!
Enjoy him... . Cause he'll grow up quick and be a annoying bugger.lol.. nah CONGRATS.

Congrats on your son`s 1st word.
My daughter is due late May/early June and my wife has to stay in bed all the time to prevent from giving a birth to a premature child.
She was in hospital for over a month and now doctors said she could be at home but still needs to stay in bed.
So I know how you felt Shari and now we`re getting through this

Tommy_de1st I hope everything is going to be ok for your wife and child. We almost lost my first born due to an amniocentesis that went horribly wrong. Wife was in bed for the rest of the pregnancy. No fluid left for the lungs to develop. Slowly, things got better. It was a long and horrible road to travel. My little guy is now 3 and in perfect health. So hang in there.

Thanks everyone for all of your sweet words - this is why TB's Tennis thread is my favourite one on SBR. Awesome people all around!!
And Tommy - try to hang in there and stay positive. I know those words don't mean much but positivity and strength work miracles. Best of luck and please keep me updated, even via PM, with how things are going with your wife!
Well, Robredro didn't pan out as hoped but off to cheer on Ferrero.

Wawrinka eh? I'll throw a quick $20 on it...why not...I know nothing about tennis, but I'll be happy for the entertainment! So thanks!
TB...I got home last night late, and I was sitting at my computer with my betting page open, I had all your picks in and ready to go, $100 a piece...and I just couldn't pull the trigger. Damn me...great work, keep it up!

Awesome: TB's on Wawa!!!
It's not like I think he's going to win this in 2 sets. But I think the books have seriously misjudged his ability to make this close, and actually win it, and therefore there's plenty of value to be had.
I'm on the over as well so hopefully this will be a nice close one with Wawrinka taking it in the 3rd.

hi, im new the the forum.
great work tennisbabe, on the picks in all sports (mlb, tennis, nba, soccer etc.). cant wait to see more of your picks.
i got a question, for the experienced tennis betters... if your pick lost the first set (i.e. Robredo), would you live bet to pick the other side to win set#2 to kind of hedge and win your initial investment back? i know your pick could win the second set and then lose the 3rd set and you end up losing both bets.
any thoughts?

A lot has to depend on the match, what I thought going in, how the player is playing etc...

In non-majors I always play lesser amounts in the early rounds. This Verdasco 5 unit pick was a rare event. Usually I don't play high amounts before quarterfinals. Once we reach the quarters, semis and finals, I left it roll.
This is not true for majors. I might take it easy first round but after that its rip city
