Cilic is totally confused and intimidated my the situation. Natural instinct is to "let up" when you think you are playing an injured opponent. Roddick, IMO, used the shoulder injury timeout as a delay tactic. So far, it has worked.

The commentators were stating the complete opposite of your post midway through the 2nd set, praising Cilic for not letting it affect him and that he has continued to play his game, despite playing a player that was injured. In addition, it was not a delay tactic by Roddick, anyone can clearly see he is in pain everytime he serves.

he had to have hanco- he played incredible in the 5th set. If this kid could keep up his intensity and focus he has a shot.

Props to both. That was one of the grittiest efforts by Roddick and great fortitude by Cilic to hold on in the end. Roddick really screwed the pooch though as they said - stopped being aggressive in the 5th set. Cilic keeps getting these wounded dogs and taking them out back with the Old Yeller shotgun blast to the head.

roddick had his super major chance in the begining of the 5th set, when he had 3 break points in a row...but cilic won 5 points one after another to win the game...who is cilic playing next ?
