You need things to go well. Sometimes, in-game injuries could derail what ought to be a good pick.
We can go back and forth here, BUT luck's got nothing on betting tennis, poker maybe but thats debatable also, cheers

Welcome to the Australian Open! Hoping we'll be able to profit from it.
ATP
Fognini ML (-125)
Sinner -2.5 sets (+135)
I don't see how Purcell wins a set against Sinner.
WTA
Linette -1.5 sets (-110)

I like Fognini too but I can’t bet on him lol. He was plus money as well but it seems like this is a 50/50 match for most.

To be honest with you, I wouldn't make this bet outside of a grandslam.I believe Fog will bring his "A" game here. You only need one break against the likes of Isner and Opelka to win a set.

He’s back out to +110. If he keeps drifting I’ll probably make it a play. Don’t have as much time to check in on things but I’ll keep an eye out for the movement.
Another play that I left was the Kohlscrieber and Giron game. Girons a dangerous floater in the draw but Kohlscriebber did win the Canberra Chalenger and word was the conditions were similar to Melbourne. I don’t feel he wins in three sets and I feel there’s a tiebreaker there. But we’ll see I guess

I wouldn't touch the Giron/Kohl match with a 1-mile pole even though I expect Kohl to win.

Didn't have much of a headache because I counted it a loss when Fog was down 2 sets. So, it's now a pleasant surprise. I honestly sympathize with whomever played Opelka.

I'm sorry for the late response.
Halep, yes. Kerber looks good on paper, more so that she's 4-0 vs Giorgi. The problem is that she's been dealing with a hamstring injury. That's the only concern I would have with Kerber.
I like Vekic to edge it against the Polish teenager, Swiatek.

Fade Fog next game I think.
Question is who do you think the odds move in favour of?
Also I like Cilic against Raonic but debating on waiting. Raonic should really not be that heavily favoured.

I think the public will be inclined to move the odds in favor of Fognini.
Cilic's game is more balanced than that of the serve boat. Despite his imperious show against Tsitsipas, I'd still side with Cilic in a match that'll probably go 5 sets.

Yeah I think Raonic benefitted from the draw. Both Tsitsipas and Raonic had relatively not much of a challenge going into their match and Cilic had Moutet/Paire/Bautista. Hard not to side with him there ey

As much as I hate making a call in the unpredictability of women's tennis I think it's Barty's tournament to lose.

Her fiercest threat is Halep. All other threats are already out of the competition.

Muguruza/Pavy is an interesting one. Muguruza has looked good and can go on a run at times like she has been at times but Pavy seems like Pliskova and just can't get over the hump.
Halep has looked shaky from some of her matches but you can say that about every womens player haha.

Pavlyuchenkova may go the way of Agniezka Radwanska - a top player that never won a grandslam.
Of course, all women look shaky from time to time to varying degrees. I expect Halep to dispatch Kontaveit in straight sets.
