Winning match but losing spread

In my 4 plus years of tennis betting I think this is my first time I’ve seen a player win but lose the spread

Loses 6-1 wins 7-6 7-6

Is this as rare as I think?

He means that the underdog ML bet will cadh but the +2.5 games or whatever will lose.

It is impossible in any other sport.

Yeah it sucks but you take it. Seen it happen on both sides where if you back a player -1.5 for the extra odds juice, they win the first set 6-2 and you think to yourself 'sweet! this is looking good!' only for them to lose that second set then 6-2 and you're sweating on them closing it out before the TB.

The catch22 safety net is that if your player looks shaky (and in some cases dodgy) and retires, you'll get your money back as opposed to the ML (in some books)

It happened to me once, I had Safwat (+2.5) vs Koepfer. He won the match 7-5 0-6 7-6 lol.

Happens with giant servers a fair bit (7/6 3/6 7/6), and matches where they fix one set by a bagel (cos 6-0 sets are long odds).
