Not that it matters if Sharapova gets any wildcards. She could easily start from scratch, win a couple of ITF's and low tier WTA tourneys to get a decent ranking. She might even win those that she will be getting wildcards to, now that Serena won't be in them.

Actually i dont see wild card issues. Theretically she should play 3 qual rounds to get premier events and gather approximately 1000 points
And 1000points is enough to get premier events
Only thing is when she doesnt have rating is she able to play qual events? You should be top300 to get qual events?

Lol I was answering it as referring to Genie being upset because she's gonna lose, I agree on it should be Maria not shaking if anybody. She's shown class I guess throughout the comment, guess it'd be too tiring to respond to all and she knows she'd just be fanning the flames making it last that much longer. For all we know these two had a convo after that comment and put all things aside.

I just started watching, but it looks like Genie is hitting well- maybe because the clay is giving her a little more time to line up her shots?

I thought the odds on Pova were pretty high considering she's only played a handful of matches after a year layoff.

Took Genie live @ +390. Just broke to serve for the 1st set as I'm typing. We'll see...
