Thought he would show up for this match. Fed is in top form but it seemed as though Rafa was getting closer and that he would really give it a push to win this thing by winning at least a frame. Guess he still has a way to go. Any insight on the match from someone who watched it would be appreciated. Thanks.

i don't mind rafa getting beat down this year, makes up for all the majors rafa has beat fed in. he wasn't that bad today. fed winning a major is playing carefree now and just wrecking people.Comment -
Nadal had four break points in the first set, including two in the first game. A conversion there would have changed that set completely. He was engaged in the match and was certainly not the inferior player in the first set. Fed converted he didn't. Set two, he was totally outclassed on Fed's serve, never getting close to getting into one of his service games and you could see the eventual break on his coming.Comment -

Biggest difference is Nadal isn't as punishing on the forehand this year, it isn't a near winner nor is it a weapon. Like Federer, his backhand has held up quite well against the barrage of attacks against it so I imagine he's (like Federer) had to work on it to not make it as much of a weakness.
Worth noting (to me anyway) it is a bit of a different weakness to playing someone like Djokovic as it is to Nadal, for Federer, and vice versaComment
