good job, Stan. I should have just taken you instead
of thinking Donald Young had a chance against Pella (lol).
Tennis not currently anywhere near my best action lately.

French Open to Win
Andy Murray (800) $20/100
p.s. locking this in at GT as I've heard the line has shifted at other books.
I don't really think Murray will win, but it's a hedge deal.

Just got updated odds at my other local, Andy +275... think I'll grab another half piece of +725 at the first

Murray is +400 at big books. I usually just check bet365 prices; probably the best place to check the latest consensus lines. I got a little piece of Andy at +900 after Madrid, I would've taken anything better than +600 right now in a heartbeat.

I'm not counting out Kyrgios or even Dimitrov from his half.

Dimitrov, really ? Anyways, we'll see. I'd be very surprised not to see the top-3 men's seeds in the semis.

I like to mix it up. Dimitrov can take over the 22 spot when he knocks out Viktor who sucks on clay. I think Dimitrov got injured during that fiasco match and has basically taken the last few weeks off. Dimitrov is still a wild card.

I miss volleyball...i'd put in an "lol" here, but i'm serious, SBR needs a VB-thread focusing on those hi-reliability faves you're good at sniffing out

yes, in your open-parlay thread a while back your VB-plays were so much more reliable and stress-free than your typical tenny or american-vanilla sports plays at many-multiples of the minus-#...don't think a VB play even lost in that thread...seems to me that the competitions among national teams (such as, and especially the olympics) are the most solid reliability-wise...whereas the various leagues made up of "clubs" playing for cups etc. far less so)...
post some good self-study links to get us newbs up to speed on the sport if/when u have time

I'm up in all my sports this year, but not in tennis. MLB I do an adjustible chase/fade but also cap
the games to pick. It's all in how you bet. I have a losing record but am up in money. I'm up in NBA,
NCAA and in NCAAF. NFL up the most. Up in Golf. Golf is a good bet.
Volleyball you try to avoid the teams who barely win their sets. If a team isn't winning by more than 2-3
points, they are beatable. Home court is important. Look for domination. Watch some games to see how
they play, the level of passion is very important in volleyball. Some countries have a deeply entrenched
culture for volleyball. Russia, Poland, Turkey, Serbia, less in the Western europe. Volleyball is big in former Soviet
because the weather is cold and they played indoors in winter. There's less sports to play and less to do, it
was part of their history. Latin America they also have a passion for volleyball, especially Brazil. With the
women, Italy is there, Poland. Look at past Olympics to see how the men's and women's teams fared.
Avoid the one-shot wonders because they won't have the same roster. With volleyball it's all about that
culture of it being a major sport that attracts top athletes and is a mainstay in entertainment. Think about it.
Going to an indoor volleyball game, loaded up on booze is one of the best things to do in some places.
National pride, teamwork, not individualism. This is why Communistic cultures excel at things like volleyball
and synchronized swimming.
But volleyball indoor season is over. So we have to look into the olympics. But with the olympics
all the other big faves open up too.. never bet Olympics teams without looking at past performances
because they need all those experienced coaches and different countries apply their recruiting strengths to
different sports. In rowing it's the Anglo countries.

Witthoeft collapsed and Diyas upticked like mad.
I can't believe I almost took Trungelitti at +675 but chickened out !
I was like, yeah, I can see him beating Cilic.. but wait, that won't happen..
uhh... it happened.
And Murray, lol.. too much, he was well-favored even down 2 sets.
If he can't wear down an 80 year old Stepanek what is the deal ?
