#39How dare you raise your head up to look at me. Units can be whatever you want them to be regardless of bankroll, keep trying to educate with your 14 posts rookie.Comment -

#40thanks to felix, brodie, & lakers for trying--in a very civil way--to explain that the question, as posed (ie. in absolute terms) is non-productive of anything useful...
and that to get at anything at all useful, it must be re-stated in relative (=relative to one's bankroll) terms...
either: 1. what %bankroll does one of your units represent
or: 2. your bankroll is composed of how many units
________________
jtoler, all three of these guys (now, with me, it makes 4) are helping you state your question in a useful way...none were being a smartass when they made their first attempt (and neither am I right now)
one last stab, here goes: if OP said my unit is $10,000 (or $1000, or $100, or $10...) how's that gonna be useful to you or anyone?...it won't/can't because nobody knows what size of bankroll the units are carved from...if he says $100, and you have a roll of $2,500 you're gonna say "damn that's 4% of my roll..." and/or "damn, i only have 25 units to play with..."...which is just gonna make you waste more of the OP's time by later asking a follow-up question to help you further "compare notes"...so, asking the question properly in the beginning (which is what the good peeps were trying to help you do before you rudely snapped-back at them) gets the info you ultimately need right away, rather than have to go about it one dolt-question at a time
but ask the question as we recommend and he says "1% of my roll" or, equivalently "my roll is 100 units"...you--and anyone else reading--can emulate the same degree of $-bumpiness in the ride as the OP...if your roll is $2,500 you can set one unit to $25 for starters...
capiche? 1) continue to snap at people obviously trying to help you out if you prefer...but i doubt it'll win you any friends and influence anybody of any value around here...
or 2) take the opportunity now to say "yeah, that's what i meant by my question?" and it's all sunshine and rainbows..

#41Fitguy they were trying to be smart butts, umm look at the replies. I asked the ORIGINAL POSTER this question for a reason on a specific bet he had, I don't tail, I was trying to offer him advice, although I never ask people that question sometimes people freely say it anyway. Only lesson here is don't answer for others.Comment -

#42frackin' Sela...he needs a gender-change so he can have barn-burners with Errani, Arad, and Cibu...
chance to pick up some extra cash and get into an ATP-R2 by schooling a challenger guy, instead gets rolled in straightsLast edited by fitguy67; 08-03-15, 04:57 PM.Comment -

#44ur right...Chung certainly not a scrub...to have made it into the 70s/thereabouts rank-wise by just 19yo
i always feel sorry for Sela who has to play so much better than his taller opponents, because he gets absolutely zero free points...still a great battler generally...just surprised to see him get blown away by a 19yo
then there's the (lack of) motivation angle that's always there outside of a tourney in which someone has points to defend and slams/slam-alikes..guess Cheong was hungrier here for new stripes than Dudi was to claw out a few increasingly hard- to-come-by points/dollars
____________
thinkin' about dropping tennis betting altogether except for GS++ tourneys because of the hi-probability of an uncappable (either a "don't give a fukk" fave or a "dialed in to get a scalp" dog) version of the player you bet on/against showing up...shit happens W/L-wise all the time at 250s that'd never happen at a GS/Indian-Wells where max-effort on both sides is a givenLast edited by fitguy67; 08-03-15, 06:06 PM.Comment -

#46My unit represents a specific % of bankroll for tennis.
For me, 1 unit = 1% of bankroll and while the actual value of a unit increases or decreases depending on my bankroll, It is currently $714.Comment -

#52wiki-leaks: secret pm from jtoler:
thanks GW,
one more thing...that "714"...do i divide it by or multiply it by 100 to tell me your bankroll...i'd ask in the thread but those meanies keep interfering with complicated "it depends on your own bankroll" shit
