Tough day today from a tennis standpoint but time to move on. Looking at the odds for Halep-Giorgi, I can't help but notice how off the odds are. Halep was taken to three sets in her first match this tournament, was taken to three sets in four of the five matches she played at Indian Wells, and I have to believe fatigue will start playing a factor for Simona. Although I don't love betting on Giorgi due to her erratic behavior and her form hasn't been great, she seems to have righted the ship in the first match this tournament, and I think she can overpower a tired Simona in this match. Don't know if she will win it, but at odds of +125, I will happily take Giorgi +1.5 sets.

That depends entirely on the odds of the two alternatives. Obviously, since the line is always intended to be 50/50 for the spread, one can easily(?) deduce it will win more often than the ML if the subject in question is an underdog.

You might as well be posting "2<4.5" or "something that is more likely to happen than something else happens more often than something else"...

naw, just that the game spread gives you a decent chance to win or push even if the player isn't capable
of actually winning a set.

The odd time the high ML does hit you'll have made up for the losses you've avoided with the spread, presuming efficient (correct) odds.

they way i bet personally is not based on odds. i never take a bet based on odds alone.

That's true, but those spots can also be very much so expected to affect the chances of the spread hitting or even voiding.

I think that's a good approach, and rarely do I myself.
