Not shocked here. Really kind of shocked he didn't announce it sooner. Was pretty apparent in Sydney that he couldn't hit a backhand that was going to be worth much and trying to play a best of five with only your forehand isn't conducive to winning.

Hope maybe he can be healthy by Miami and Indian Wells. I think if he's smart, he doesn't come back until he's 100% this time. Gotta be frustrating.

Sluggy, you are most likely on the right page man.. I don't know about ANY of ya'll, but I have been watching Del Po since juniors & if I see him running around in the future hitting a one hander topspin, I will be laughing my ASS off!!! That would be worth it's price in gold just to see that.. In all seriousness though, I hope he recovers quickly and gets back on the court, he is a world class player without question
