Why are Gasquet and Querry big favs today?

I know some will say rankings don't mean anything, but they have to mean something.......both plays ranked way lower than their opponent yet favored pretty heavily.

Can someone give me some insight?

Rankings are meaningless

Querrey is in excellent form, Lopez isn't

Lopez never plays well in Paris

Querrey has beaten lopez twice on indoor hard courts

Pretty simple stuff

Lopez also has played in this tournament 10 times and only passed thru to the second round twice.
