    Berdych - Thiem
I think Berdych has this, 3-0 maybe not even a tiebreak needed. Thiem has been disappointing since Madrid and his little run in NY isn't enough to convince me that he is ready to go deep in slams. If you look beyond the results, Gulbis got injured after 2-0 sets lead and against Lopez, it was more the case the Spaniard being awfully bad rather than Thiem playing great tennis. Lopez made hilarious errors and looked like a zombie whole match.

    Berdych in 3.

Thanks for the info. I haven't seen either of these guys play this tournament. Anyone else have observations?

Berdych was better against Gabashvili last round, but Gabashvili made a lot of errors and did not play well. The previous round, he looked real shaky against Kilzan at-times. Thiem will need to do more today to be competitive, but this is still the same Berdych who has really been struggling since the French Open and can look really poor at times with errors and especially if his 1st serve percentage is low. Warm + humid again, so conditions certainly could have an impact today. I know Berdych has struggled some times with that, haven't seen enough of Thiem to know how he will respond to that.

Berdych will kick it up a notch and advance in stressless fashion.

I've got Birdie 3-0 and Under 38 games which means DT will win in 5 sets.

Berdych up 4-1 first set. Two psychologically important holds coming back from 0-40, must have some influence on Thiem aswell.
