Check tv guide on how long coverage lasts

This is going to sound weird/maybe stupid but i've been laying low and not betting and keeping track of this.

If there is a match on a big TV station like ESPN/ESPN2/CBS I immediately check to see how long the coverage is supposed to last after the first set is done. If it is listed as another 1.5 hours or 2 then it has been going 3 sets everytime.

I've noticed this in both Caro/Serena matches and a lot of the Venus matches a couple weeks ago. I also noticed that coverag ewas only listed as 1.5 hours in the Isner/Anderson match that ended in straights.

Call me stupid but I just placed a wager on Rosol to win the 2nd set after I noticed the guide said coverage would last until 3 and he pulled it out, even avoiding 3 break points.

lol I'm not advocating making plays on this strategy just pointing out the fact that this has been happening over and over just seems sketch to me.

I will. I obviously don't put much faith into this but it's happened everytime i've seen it so far, really weird.

Not sure how this would pertain to the US open since theyre best of 5 though and coverage is all day

No, should be a 2 setter if coverage is over by 5 depending how long the first set takes.

You have to add on the 15 minutes or so they add onto it for the trophy ceremony. This one will definitely end in 2 according to this strategy

lol jk but I wouldn't be surprised if this ends right at around 4:40 or so. The Rosol/Jerzy coverage was intended to end at 3 and the match ended at 2:45 lol. Weird

Ceremony just ended at 4:37 so unless they could have got a 3rd set finished in 23 minutes then I'm sticking with my view on these TV covered matches being fishy. Kvitova just absolutely destroyed Rybarikova this match otherwise would have lasted a little bit longer in time to get ceremony finished by 5.
