update: so carried away was i from my above post that i put a splash on simon at +1400 at start of that epic 8th game (which he lost=failed to get the break he needs...BUT in no way choked up)...then he holds to love...

he is the only frenchMAN that has what i call "grit" (the two top French broads are ok in that department...Cornet is nutty as a fruitcake but will absolutely not fold like most of the guys...Garcia will be top five down the road...has the skills AND the composure needed)

1. higher rankings on average and, most importantly from the point of view of this thread...
2. a far less painful impact on your memory of "the number of times ___ has fukked me"

hard to think of a hi-ranked Spaniard with a history of choking...look at RBA...always plays "above his head" and "with all his heart"...they're all wired like Ferrer that way...to never throw in the towel...varying levels of talent with the Spaniards but the tenacity meter is always on max (and in the case of Nadal that max setting is the most full-blown case of OCD a non-psychologist is likely to encounter)...the Spaniards train themselves in ways to push normal tendencies toward "self sabotage" (aka. conversely it is extremely EASY to rattle off names of hi-ranking Frenchmen who are serial chokers...whose "self" sabotage sabotages bets
