Granollers is higher ranked but Thiem is 2-0 H2H this year, has a better clay court record (17-8 and Granollers has a losing record of 11-14), and big for Thiem is the home crowd which was pretty in to the match today.

Thiem is hot right now and playing in front of his home crowd with big support. Monaco has to be getting tired playing all these tough clay court matches the last two weeks.

Nara is the higher rated player but basically beats the lower ranked players then gets trounced by any top player with talent. She's 5'1 and Mladenovic is 6'1. Mladenovic has some quality wins and has played well the last two tournaments (Istanbul semis and Baku quarters) and if she isn't an unforced error machine today should be a relatively easy winner.
