#108congrats on becker, 1-3 for day...i'll run up some figs later
BTW, i put a "to win 1u" flier on Kondo...50% premium (over coin-flip 2.0/+100) is still a fat premium, even if Huang has improved a lot and currently on a heater vs the older & now colder Kondo...
nothing fosters the instant "return of mojo" better than having to show someone you've always bitch-slapped, that despite their recent successes...things are still the same "between you and me"
Huang will in his corner have the "that was then...this is now!" to spur him on...
but i've always felt "i KNOW i can do this because...i've already done it!...three times!" as being much stronger than garden-variety oprah-network "i know i can do this...i know i can do this..."
much stronger of course only in the important "internal factors" (you know, composure and grit --the "anti-choke" elements) side of things...on the other side of who's overall stronger is of course the pure "external factors" (you know, things like grooved-in tennis skills)...Huang's game may have improved a lot since they met last and may have a decided edge in the latter...but the h2h dominance and experience angles of Kondo may make him less subject to self-sabotage...more able to finish if he's lucky to find himself with a SP/MP...

#110sbr's tennis sub-forum easily the most tolerant and civil of all the sf's
we're kind of like "princeton university's math department" to Cappy's John Nash
even if a guy's got an obnoxious posting style...we don't abandon one of our own...we encourage and cajole, and work with him until his posting's more useful to his fellow sf-bro's ...
books are giving away money and CP's always looking for it...and will post a headsup when he finds something
I'll do my best to document the path of a generic $10,000 bank firing $100 bullets based on these (hopefully increasingly-clear) soundings of the CP free-money alarm!Comment -

#111I do my accounting a bit more comprehensively than most
usual reporting of summar figs will be of this format: W-L, N = A -S___B
where N=net profit in $ (since u are fixed at $100, all $ figs can be converted by moving dec-point 2 places to left)
A = $won by all plays graded as Ws = $-Additions to the Bank (an important tally to be maintained)
S = $lost by all plays graded as Ls = $-subractions from the Bank (an important tally to be maintained)
so, obviously N=A-S and new bank B = I + N, where I =Initial bank (or Invested funds)
starting point at EOD#00(Sun, Jun15): 0-0, $0 = 0 - 0___$10,000
all action is to win (NOT risk) 1u unless otherwise specified
Day#01 = Mon, Jun 16
1 W (@ 1.7692/-130).................................... ....A= 100
3 L (@ 1.76, 1.78, 2.5/-131.58, -128.21, +150)...S = 326.46 (=131.58+128.21+66.67)
N= A - S = -226.46
the winner was Becker -130
the 3 losers were Jung, Barthel*Puig, CaGa
EOD#01(M, Jun16): 1-3, -226.46 = 100 - 326.46____9773.54
corresponding to .......W-L,........N = A - S_______B
note that in units format......1-3, -2.2646 = 1 - 3/2646__97.7354
so there's no need to refer to units anymore...just remember, all figures are based on a generic B,u = 10k, 100
so dividing the $ figures reported by the fixed conversion rate of 1u=$100, amounts to moving the dec-point 2 places to the left and adding a "u" to the right side of the figureComment -

#116I already told you why he was ranked 600ish before. He is coming off not playing much in 2 years and since coming back this year, he has done well. That being said, he shouldnt be the favourite but line is close to being correct in my opinion. Zhyrmont is a very inconsistent player, again in my opinion.

#122Hey Cap...i can't keep up...because most of the time you think you're calling plays, you aren't...you're just mentioning "play fragments"
from now on...if you want props for your record...you'll have to keep it yourself
just makeke sure each "play" you want to call and eventually want to get props for has these three essential items stated clearly:
*a pick (eg. "Muller", "Muller -4.5", or "Muller/Groth, o22.5")
*a price (either "1.8" or "-125")
*a bet-size (at least one of the "to risk" or "to win" amounts in either $ or units must be stated clearly)...
idea: if you set your unit size to $100, you'll never have to "convert" from $ to units...just move the decimal point 2 places
i've laid an example clearly for you above...but it's probably too complicated for you to maintain..just notice that it's based on a reference Initial bank of 10k and
handy $100 units representing exactly 1% chunks of that initial bank
just stick with whatever you decide...and update every day (see Eaglesphan36's thread) or at least as often as you can (see HardCoar and HoneyBadger's threads)
Eaglesphan36 does it nice and simple: just reports N (net profit), but it's always a perfect reflection of the plays that he's laid out simply but clearly (note that each play has ALL 3 things stated clearly ALL the time : pick/price/bet-size)
I suggest you start with a format like EP's...and if you want to report more things, see how HardCoar and HoneyBadger do things
key ideas
clear statement of plays (each with a pick, a price, and a betsize) +
regular & accurate accounting reports (stating at least "W-L, Net-profit")
now, consider yourself "wised up"...
no more slingin' "play fragments", ok pal
if you call 'em...call'em clearly...and keep track of 'em accurately
