Yeah it's beyond ridiculous now. Melbourne is investing all this cash to make even more courts night ready and RG has jack shit. These stoppages when unnecessary are a massive disadvantage to certain players. I don't even want to think of all the $ I've lost because my player was set to win before torrential rain struck and they had to resume the next day or even two days after. At least that's understandable. No lights though?! Invest in your bloody facilities if you want to hold a GS or be prepared for people to say it's time to move it to a more suitable venue.

Players have been asking for it for three-four years now. It became a legal battle back in 2011 because of the additional acres of land that they want to use to expand. Supposed to finally start happening in 2017, so enjoy two more years of this bullshit.

WTF do they need extra land for?! Stick 6 of those high powered Aussie Open lights around at least your main and secondary courts and you're good. That takes zero room. They're so set on trying to preserve some archaic "tradition" crap while the players are well beyond it. A GS in 2014 should not have matches cut short due to lack of light. Rain, heat, ok. Light?! No. Every year it's the same thing with this bs and I don't even have money on these two matches

Further details of the expansion were announced in May 2013, including a complete rebuild of the Chatrier court on its existing foundations at the time that the roof and lights are added, and demolition of Court 1. The new stadium at Porte d'Auteuil will be built below ground level, with greenhouses surrounding it on all four sides.

They are shitty yes, but you have to consider theose courts may be getting old and in need of replacement.
