Like the dog here. Pav was resilient against JJ in Madrid, she just did not have anything left in the tank to compete with Ivanovic the next day. Bencic plays the same style as Pav and Pav will be happy to outhit Bencic in Rome. Also, Pav is actually quite good on clay when she is playing well.

Bencic is the fav because the public likes her, she is the new hot thing. We'll see in a few hours. No injury for Pav afaik.

Hope she will cry me a river. Pav can also cry, but she usually does it in the locker room. She actually had a big meltdown around this time last year splitting with Hingis who was coaching her. I think she is back in form since a few months ago though.

One weird thing is about the outright winner, bencic 276, pavly 81.
So bencic are favorites to beat pavly but less favorites to win the tournament????

Nothing too weird about it. Pav has the game and experience to win in Rome, especially if she plays well and gets to, let's say, quarters. Bencic is too inexperienced to win it all.

Last year Pav looked so good in Portugal and Madrid that she was expected to do some gamage at RG, hence the meltdown after a couple of bad losses.

Errani was horrible in Charleston, fast clay, very lucky to beat Peng. Peng lost it.

Other one is Cornet indoor Fed Cup.

I dont know what is so special about her. I dont see it

That being said, I only think Pav should be a slight fav in this spot. This is not a sure thing, not that there are any in gambling. I am actually not going large today on any plays.

Pavly does not have a good Rome record, Madrid is better. SLowest clay might be the reason. Portugal and Madrid clays were faster. Still Bencic will face the slow court too, not really her style
