I think GGL @ +1100 gives you more bang for your buck and is more reasonable to go deep. Montanes could do some damage here, I agree. But he could also blow dong in the 1st round even though the situation sets up for him. Especially factoring in that Giraldo has had his number, which sometimes will outweigh the possible disappointment/fatigue angle.
