    Milos Raonic ML 2.20
it's not his favorite surface but if he can keep the unforced errors down, he will have a chance. Robredo seems to throw dud performances now and again, hopefully tomorrow is one of them.

    Raonic ML 2.20 x 2 units

Betting on Raonic purely on an off-hand chance that Robredo does not show up appears to be a bad idea.

That's not why I'm wagering on him. People think Raonic can't play on clay. Rediculous

Given Robredo's age, he wont have a lot of chances to play quarter-final in Masters events, so he should not slack.

And Raonic is a mental midget at times. I think anyone thinking of backing Raonic is better off taking over 23

Does not look like Robredo has been playing well this year. As a former top-10 player, I do not think he will regard this match as in a lifetime chance either. Anyway, I think this is close to a 50/50 match, at least on paper. The line moved to +125 and I think 70+% on the public is on Robredo. That was my first instinct too, until I checked his record this year. I think there is some value on Raonic at +odds.

He really values playing finals in smaller events (250-500) and playing upper rounds in bigger tourneys (1000-GS). He said something like this after winning a tourney last year "For all those years if you look I did not win too many titles so each opportunity to win one is very special for me. Money cant buy the adrenaline and the pride that comes with it". He has the same mentality for playing the upper rounds in bigger tourneys. Yes, he had some upsets in the beginning of the year but he was better in the 2nd half of 2013 clay season too. I would take over 23

I dont know how Raonic plays on clay but Robredo can be really up for it when he is motivated and is feeling the game. I favour Robredo here, since he played so many clay matches this year and Raonic is just on the court for his second. Also if you look at the odds of their past matchup in Barcelona, you see about 1,40 price for Raonic and it was after Roland Garros and in the middle of the clay season. But this is the start of it so the player who tried to make it the middle for himself (Robredo here) looks as the winner for me. GL with your bets

Being "up for it or not up for it" is not a big question for me: this is a big event and none of these players will want to lose in the 3rd round. The question is Robredo's form, which appears to be crappy right now. Had he been playing as good as he did last year, I would not be backing Raonic, but Robredo is not playing that great right now.

No prob, I was having a hard time looking for dogs to win today. Raonic is progressing this year. I know he lost to Nadal on a diffrent surface in 3 sets, but I firmly believe that loss installed confidence in the Big man

You might be right about Raonic. Plus, I think the old guard: Robredo, Haas, to some extent Tursunov/Youzhny, is starting to fade into the twilight as they should be, given their age.
