Because Petkovic (apart from a slight – in time as well as magnitude – lapse in the second set) and Safarova (apart from a slight lapse in the third set) were playing far better than Bouchard, and in particular Jankovic did in the same round.

To answer your question in a more direct manner however: Because the odds were @ 2.14.

Also, who the f*ck claims she can't beat Petkovic? Personally, I'm merely claiming she will beat Petkovic half the time at best. I think this will be a good and close match. Over whatever seems golden to me.

Hindsight? I thought Kudryatseva may take the first set but the odds were WAY to large for a 20 unit play. Calling a match over befor it's over is juvenile, I'll agree. I just do it to stir up some of the guys perking from the woods lol
